POE 2 - Soft Locked Trial of Sekhemas

I wish I could post a screenshot directly but I can share my experience here.

I ended up taking too much damage to honour and lost the trial. I came out, I could not find the trial coin to repeat. I fought Balbala a few times to see if I can get another drop.

As a matter of fact, I did! But I got a level 35 drop which seemed a bit odd because I was in cruel and I was fighting a boss that was effectively 2 shotting me.

I also screenshotted the coin which told me "Completing this trial will allow you to choose your ascendancy class". The message sounds as if this was a "normal mode" drop.

I went to "Trial of Sekhemas" and took a look at the coin again and the message changed! It changed to: "Completing this ascension trial will not grant additional skill points".

So I think there's a bit of weirdness going on with defeating Balbala in cruel after the first time not dropping the correct item

Beat trials of sekema twice, BOTH times game crashed after boss, got no rewards, trials coins were taken both times. Left with NOTHING but extreme anger.

I finished the trial for my 5th and 6th ascendancy points and wasn't aware I HAD to click the shrine. It says only to complete the trial of Sekhemas and allows you to leave but I can't understand how to get back to the loot room to click the shrine. If I must click the shrine to claim my points why is there a one way shrine to leave. In my opinion the portal should spawn upon clicking the shrine. This is unbelievably simple solution to prevent these types of confusions. There is clearly a disconnect with trials and what the community understands based on the already patched trials.

Similar issue, but slightly different:


A coin with area level 50 dropped for me during act 1.
Killed the boss, and a coin with area level 52 dropped.

However, i am only able to access the "trial of the sekhemas" in normal difficulty and the waypoint on the map in cruel difficulty points to the normal difficulty instance (area level 22).

The quest is stuck in a state where it states "Search the traitors passage". However, i have cleared the entire map (including boss) several times and no passage opens.

Going to the normal difficulty level instance changes the description text on the coins from "..will grant ascendancy points" to "..will not grant ascendancy points".


1. Fix the bug where players cannot regain the coin if lost
2. Fix the bug where the players cannot access the cruel difficulty instance of the ascention trial (or make it the same instance)
3. Fix the bug where the cruel difficulty map points to the normal difficulty instance

+1 been stuck on this for days , no coin , no reset no progression

Same issue as everyone above. In the Act 5 I died at last boss. Because of the other bug I did a hard quit. Now I cant get new key.

+1. Portalled out from treasure room, now I'm locked out of trials

Same here, completed boss went to sale, portal doesn't work and new coin for trial retry doesn't work.

Same as everyone else. Game crashed during one of trials now I’m locked out.

Same issue. Went to town after beating Rattlecage. Couldnt go back in portal and used WP to go back to Trial of Shek. Once in my coin was still there but trial was reset and cannot get boss or claim reward... wtf?
