Settings not saving properly POE 2 Early access

Uninstalling one drive was a simple fix for me.
Hi,

I had the same problem, on each restart of PoE 2 the audio output device was set back to "System" which is my default Windows output device... I double checked the configuration file of the game but the right (desired) value was stored. Nothing did the trick until...

I realized that Windows 11 itself can set the default output for a specific application... And I assumed that unpon each game restart Windows tells the game which audio device to use, bypassing the game preferences.

Steps that solved the problem :

1. Start the game
- Go to options
- Set the output audio device you want to use
- Save options (don't close the game)

2. Switch to Windows desktop
- Go to Parameters > System > Sound > Audio Mixer
- Select Path Of Exile 2 (it unfolds two lines)
- Set output device to the same device you set during step 1

3. Quit / Restart the game

=> Normally you should Enjoy sound on the desired device ! ;-)

Hope this will helps few people

Unfortunately this workaround does not work on Win10 with the Steam client. The game forces the Windows audio default device to an arbitrary device on my machine, and no amount of setting it manually with the game open/closed, saving or not saving settings, marking the config as Read Only will make it work as intended. I suspect the game is somehow overriding something along the way between the initial boot and whenever it loads the main menu.
Thanks!

This solved it for me in PoE1 as well, thank you very much! I guess at some point a windows update changed something (as usual).
