Trial of sekhema is really bad
I hoped locking ascendency behind content as un-fun as lab would have been fixed in PoE2 and … welcome Trial of sekhema. Spend tries after tries to die to the last boss. Bosses are generally way too long in standard content but redoing the whole trial after dying 10 minutes in the last boss is crap.
And I know there are other Trials but I had to look on Reddit to realize this trial is optional. I don’t understand the point of putting the worst (unfun/unfair/time sink) one in front of players with no in-game clue that they should just ignore this thing. Last bumped on Dec 13, 2024, 2:54:31 AM

that bs is optional? jeez louise thank god. | |

Sanctum doesnt really make sense in poe. We build layers of defense that are unaffected by honor.
If i had 100k armor i should have less honor removed compared to a glass cannon. Its not logical gameplay |

You should be allowed to start over at the boss room, not redoing the whole thing. At least for the first 3 trials. If they want some super hard one thats punishing for the last 2 points then fine, but no one is farming the lower level ones we just want the points to get the build rolling...

I was so disappointed to find sanctum in here. Don't get me wrong, I think rogelike's are a fun idea, and I think sanctum could be cool. Just get rid of the honor system. It's so bad. If I die by my health going down, that's on me. Start me over. But just having small things chip away at you the whole time (my health was never at risk, just burning and acid etc) then you finally get to the boss and you're MAYBE at half honor. One attempt I had managed to recover to full honor before the boss fight but guess what, it wasn't enough. I never got hit by his slams or anything. It was just the volcanos and raining fire (that is impossible to predict). And those things don't hurt my health like at all, but it just slowly chips away at the honor and you lose.
And it's not like I have a weak build or anything, granted it's melee so I gotta get close, but I'm not having any struggles killing the trash on the way to the boss. Nor have I really had any troubles with bosses up until this point. If they want to make it hard, then make the path to the boss give you actually useful boons? More water? Everything I've seen costs 5 water and I'm sitting on 500 of the stuff, wtf. This is the first time the game made me rage quit. Tried it three times and just had no control over my success. Did everything I could to prepare, picking the right rooms that offered more honor and boons, being careful all the way there. But they are expecting you to make ZERO mistakes. Get over yourself, GGG. Last edited by adamk33n3r#5072 on Dec 8, 2024, 1:54:44 AM

Terrible design like trials of Sekhema are the reason why ppl still play d4 and its more popular.
These mechanics are not fun. If people wanted to play a 4/10 $3.99 Steam roguelike, they would. Game is soooo close, but still so many questionable decisions. Last edited by sempuken#7215 on Dec 8, 2024, 2:50:05 AM

PoE2 proved 1 thing, players dont want to be shown that they actually suck at the game. Give them something not even that hard that they cant brute force and suddenly its "bad design". To that all i can say is xD.

Well they did put the ascension mechanic behind two of the most hated league mechanics. At the current moment the game is awful with poor balance and spongy enemies.

" exactly, there is this enormous focus on building a strong and capable character, and this content ignores it entirely and favors range spam builds who can easily avoid the melee-punishing mechanics I'm telling you, this is a 'that guy' game decision. There is 'that guy' at ggg who had the power to insist this be in the game, and that's the only reason its there. 'That guy', whoever he is, needs an ego check. Dear 'that guy': sanctum sucks, honor sucks, you need to get over it. |
