The point is that developers concentrate on nerfing whatever is outperforming and completely ignore the feedback regarding melee being extremely weak compared to ranged.
Much-needed buffs must take priority over nerfs during beta; it's not like we are playing an e-sports league here.

figure out which to nerf: 10 sec
figure out melee's problem: more than 4 years

Actually most of these melee's problems are proposed to Chris Wilson in 3.13 interview, and Chris said they will look after them.

4 Years later we got 16 terrible melee gems that perform way way way worse than poe1, even way worse than the day Chris promised they will fix melee.

It's not "day 2" dude. GGG already know melee is bad, somehow they just don't fix it and make it even worse.

why just nerf the damage? its called supercharged, let them cook. increase the charge up time to reach max damage instead. so that you still get that 60% less damage at the same time frame.

who cares if they one hit a boss, if it took 20 seconds to charge the attack to do it?

Melee might be in a bad spot for a long time, but delusion of people defending one-hit KO slam in this case just is just pathetic.

If it was 1 shotting bosses they'd be doing a lot more than 60% nerf.


It was killing act bosses in 1 charge-up attack, like 2-3 seconds and deleting them.
Look on YouTube to see Alk do it over and over and over.

As much as I hate using the word, it was broken.

They don’t want everyone to flock to one build.
But I do agree with your sentiment, we need buffs.
