Game crashes when loading into new areas - POE 2

I have a very good PC, Intel i9 13th gen, RTX 4090, 64GB RAM. Windows 11 Pro 23h2. I am currently trying both the steam and the standalone launcher with my accounts linked.

yesterday I was having this issue too. On either launcher, when I try to load into a new area of the game or sometimes even just a new menu such as the passive tree, the game crashes. It doesn't appear to be a specific area or character as it has happened with pretty much every area of the game ive managed to get to (up till the red vale). On reddit there have been many people with the same issue, some even destroying their entire PC to the point where they have to hard reset the machine. Yesterday I was able to continuously try logging in to the game and eventually it will randomly let me play for 5-20 minutes before crashing again. Today, I made a new character and was able to play all the way up till the Red Vale area before the game completely fails. Now both of my characters cant even load into the game, and they are both at different areas (one the red vale, one at the first town). I love what Ive seen of the game so far and really hope there is some sort of easy solution for these crashes. Things that I have tried so far are as follows:

Verify Steam files
Reinstallation through steam
Both launchers
Running the game through Vulcan, Directx12, Direcx11 (vulcan is the only one that works occationally)
Toggling Vsync on and off
Capping the FPS to 60 in all settings that allows an FPS cap
Lowering the graphics (although my PC should have zero issues, before I capped FPS i was running the game on over 200FPS on maxed settings.)

(all other settings are set to their defaults. My performance graph doesn't fluctuate radically while playing either, cant post a picture for this as currently I cant load into the game on any area).

Many people on Reddit have the same issue with various PC builds, so I dont think its a PC issue or incompatibility on my end. If someone has found a work around or what setting is destroying the game please let me know. If you are having the same issues comment on this to give it some extra attention

I'm having the same problem and have a 4090 as well. turned vsync off because forms said was bugged and was able to load into a zone but portaled back to clearfell encampment and crashed. now can't load zone at all crashes every time. i set to vulkan and now i don't have to verify game integrity on every crash but still continues to crash when trying to load a zone. also made a new character and it crashed on loading first zone. i think the problem is pre rendering zones. i had a similar problem with another game that allowed me to switch it off. i don't know if thats the problem because a lot of other people are able to play and after 6 hours of crashing, verifying game files and getting to play for a few i've made it to lvl 6 but still in clearfell act 1. can't really progress because of this issues.

Have the same problem, very similar specs. I was playing fine for a while after setting the config file for Vulkan and Windowed, but now I crash to desktop at the GGG logo.

Sounds the exact same, so its definitely something with the game rather than with our systems. They have this issue listed now in the known problems section on the forum so yhopefully they are able to work on a fix since the game is straight up unplayable for everyone having these issues.

RESOLVED! update! Thor or PirateSofware gets all the credit whom was having the same issue. You delete shader catch in %app data for poe2 and then go to nividia control panel, manage 3d settings and change to 100gb, then go to in game options advanced settings and turn multi core threading off (uncheck) i've tryed this and it worked for me! yea! no more playing on my moms 1660ti lol

Same issue happening for me now as well. Ryzen 7 5700x, rtx 4080s, 32gb ddr4, directx12, 8x filtering. Game is quite literally unplayable now.

Click on the pathofexile .exe, always open as administrator + compatibility with wind 7 + add to windows firewall and energy option allow to reach 100%.

solved my problem, my pc froze with direcxt 12, 11 and sometimes with vulkan,
but still sometimes it crashes or the game closes before entering, sometimes my PC freezes, but now it's rarer..

This issue is still happening after the patches for me. I have tried every work around and it continues to happen. I realize this is early access, but this is such a widespread issue I would love to see an actual official response about this.
