I just wanted to submit this in case someone had a problem like mine.

I have a 5800x3d + 4800 Super and was facing this problem. In this game my FPS was kind of fixed around 40-45fps so I started searching for a solution.

It ended up being a stupid problem caused by myself :D
I ran GPU-Z and noticed that my GPU was shown as PCI-E x4 2.0

So what I did was turned off my pc disconnected everything and noticed that I, very stupidly attached the GPU to the wrong PCI-e slot.
So after switching it to the correct slot, now I have 144fps.

I Hope it helps someone else <3

Cheers!
Plug in your controller instead of using it wirelessly.

Hope this helps someone else!

Details: The game ran at 190+ FPS until I would use a skill, then drop to 15-20 FPS. It was super aggravating and made the game unplayable. My graphics card is a 4070 TI for reference. I reinstalled drivers, flashed bios, deleted shader cache and of course changed graphics settings in the main menu. Running at 1080p was no better that at max resolution.

It was the controller all along. Hope if anyone else is having this same problem you can be spared some misery.
I am having the same issue on a brand new built pc.... i dont understand how this could possibly be happening on this 2500 dollar pc.

i9 4900k
RTX 4070 Super
64 gb ram
windows 11

Monster Computer.... or at the very least to some would still be considered High End. hard locked at 24 fps.... no mater what i do.
Night guys! ive been experienced the same problem, my FPS are just bad, is there some optimization coming up? Any oficial news about that? the game is great btw :D.
Nvidia geforece Rtx 4070
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13500 2.50 GHz
32,0 GB

game not found videocard only intel.. nvidia updated still nothing....
want to play but this is problematic
same here, I7 12500H / RTX 3070TI.

I have tried everything but nothing worked. I love the Game so much but this kills it for me.

At the start on Friday everything was smooth ... had good FPS but now its unplayable.

same here. This issue should be higher priority but I don't see anything on GGG's docket for fixing this.

I have an RTX 4090, i7-13700k, and 64gb of DDR5 RAM. No matter what I do, I can't manage to get above 50fps unless I switch to Directx11, which allows my fps to go up to 120, however I suffer horrible lag spikes whenever I go anywhere or do anything in the game (down to 15-20fps.)

I'm 100% confident this is some kind of issue on POE2's end. I've updated all my drivers, updated my MOBO bios, tried tweaking all the settings in POE2, made sure nothing was limiting my framerate (like nvidia app). Please GGG, I'm begging, at least tell me that someone is looking into this. The game is beautiful and I want to be able to play it not lagging.

Just wanted to share that I too am having these issues which only started today. I've played with DX12 since launch without any issues what so ever. I was getting a pretty stable 90-110 FPS with every single setting on high/ultra at 1440p. Now I log on and DX12 can't get above like 45 even dropping setting down to dirt, doesn't matter. I've checked everything I can think of.

Going to DX11 does bring it back up to where it should be but you get the typical DX11 annoyances that, while albeit are better than super low fps, are still unacceptable. Idk what changed but I hope they do so quickly.

Rig:
i9-12900K
3090 Ti
Z690-E MB
32GB DDR5-6200
2TB WD M.2
1300W 80+ gold PS

Edit: I updated my bios (looked up current version, downloaded on USB and used the flash button on the back of the MB) and after I got that sorted I went to try again and not only is it fixed, it's slightly higher than it ever was :P.

So far, fixed.
