POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Day 19. No fix in sight. GGG is still silent.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

I gave.
Still happening. Multithreading seemed to work, but the game plays poorly when you do that. It's a bummer that you have to choose between the game playing well or constantly powering off your PC on loading screens.
I understand holidays and all, but you'd think somebody would be working at all.
Downgraded to windows 23h2 an fps is now much more stable. Still nowhere near what was before patch. But around 50 when a lot of enemies are around.

You known GPU drivers use CPU to execute its code?

Average "Joe" doesn't know about it. "Joe" thinks that the driver code is executed by the GPU, and that most of the driver package consists of pretty pictures like NVIDIA / ATI (AMD) logo and the descriptions. Everyone know the driver is something not complex.

It doesn't matter if it only happens in PoE out of the 20 application you use. There are millions of apps and games, and you don't play them all

Dude, my name is Joe, I'm tourist. I played Fortnite and it doesn't crash. I play videogames for a long a period of time from 2018 and I have a LOT of experience dealing with such stuff. If Fortnite doesn't crash and poe 2 crashes the problem is in PoE 2. GGG just need to fix it, it is so easy. They could fix it in few minutes! Don't you see they overload CPU over 100%? My CPU is loading over 140% when the zones change. I bought fresh PC and my CPU cannot run at 100% for prolonged period of time. Maybe 0.1 seconds are ok, but CPU utilization must be limited to something like 20-30% and no more! Or It will melt!

Issue still exists, I believe that this is related to windows 24h2 update.
TL;DR - Disable the "Optimizations for windowed games" feature.

AMD 7800X3D user here with a possible fix, or at least it is working for me, that you can try. I don't know if Intel CPUs are having the same crashing issues, so whether this will work for you or not I do not know.

Like others, I am sure many of you play the game in Windowed Borderless mode because you use a trade overlay, which requires you to play in this windowed mode, or you play this way because I believe it is the game's default setting. I am not sure if playing in fullscreen has the same crashing issues or not. I am just speaking about this based on my way of playing.

Like others, I have been getting crashes like crazy. I was not entirely convinced that the issue was SMT (multithreading) or high CPU/Core load. At any rate, I have been using the utility PoEUncrasher (by the way, thanks for making this tool, whoever you are), and it seems to have helped, but I was still getting a lot of crashes.

While just searching around for general Windows 11 24H2 gaming issues, I came across the AutoHDR bug. Someone posted a screenshot and this is when I saw the other feature in the screenshot named "Optimizations for windowed games". So, I figured, well, I play POE 2 in windowed mode, let's see if this works.

The answer is, yes! It worked for me. Also, it drastically sped up loading screens and opening the map and other things.

So give it try:

have it turned off, still freezes and crashes ``
"
Hi guys,

Made a post about 130 pages ago saying the only thing that stopped the freezes was downgrading to Windows 11 23H2, well 2 weeks later still 0 freezes.

So instead of wasting time with bull**** solutions, like vulkan, hardware accelerated gpu scheduling, disabling PBO, sacrificing your first born child, doing rituals for the Machine God and so on and so forth just downgrade to 23H2 or do a clean install, pause win updates for a month and hope it gets fixed or you get bored and uninstall.

Cheers and Merry X-mas to everyone !

you apparently didn't read a single comment in here and are just posting for the sake of posting as hundreds of people have that update and it still crashes for many lmao
