POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
I mean it's not no news and complete silence, they literally updated their known bugs thread with this exact issue.
also turn off multithreading in game options and play with tanked fps. better than nothin right? |

Its just too dangerous to keep playing a game that hard crashes your pc and force you to reboot. Gonna drop it the game for now, and suggest you guys do the same

" You only have to disable multithreading when you change zones or log into the game (loading screen). When you are in a zone, you can activate multithreading and have your fps. But do not forget to disable it before logging out. My solution is, to use my Ubuntu on another ssd. There I do not have any problems. Last edited by Yehima#6469 on Dec 15, 2024, 5:38:53 PM

" Or simply stop playing until this is fixed |

Do we have any hope of it being fixed soon? My crashed went from crash to desktop at some areas to freezing the entire PC. I haven't had such issues with a videogame in a long time. It's crazy that ggg is saying nothing. I expected more.

Someone on steam claims that he downloaded the latest Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One November update and that this update fixed crashes.
Anyone tried the latest Nov 13th 2024 update ? |

" You can disable some cores, e.g. two of them for POE2. This can be done with the Task Manager (but has to be done every restart) or via Tools like the free version of Process Lasso which will apply the settings every time, POE2 starts. (Also this could be set with a PowerShell command.) This will not avoid the game freezes, but your PC will not freeze in total so you can end the POE2 process. |

I think it's been mentioned a couple times previously, but want to add my experience as well. Closing out of the "Nvidia" app from the system tray immediately resolves this issue for me. I'm still running process lasso just in case but went a full day of playing with no load screen freezes after closing that application before starting up the game.

My experience so far with this
7800x3d / 4080 super No crashes since early access started until yesterday when win11 updated to 24H2. Then it froze several times in loading screens requiring hard reset. First thing i tried was disabling cpu cores using affinity - this reduced the crashes a little but could alt-tab and end process. After restarting would have to set affinity again as it loses changes each session. Today started playing it crashed 5 times in a row on loading into caravan zone where my character is. Searched for another solution and found uninstalling KB5048667 update had worked for some. Just uninstalled KB5048667 and have spent 15 mins teleporting around zones without a single crash. CPU usage is down, and loading into zones no longer has any 'pausing cogs' moment when the game would normally crash. --- UPDATE nope, a few hours later the crashes resumed. Rolling back to earlier windows did not solve anything for me or a friend having the same problem. I'm done until this is fixed. First experience with GGG - not a good one compared to [ahem] certain other ARPG beta and launch experiences. Last edited by steggullz#4213 on Dec 16, 2024, 2:23:50 PM

I'm trying everything to play!
Spec: 5700x3D + 7800XT + 64GB (Motherboard with Current BIOS) But here we go: - Windows 10 installed (Failed) - Drivers: (Failed) - All programs closed (Failed) - DNS: Cloud Flare WARP (Failed) - Processor affinity (Failed) Among everything you can imagine, disable XMP.. etc etc etc. So I found it interesting to see streamers play for hours without a single crash. I think someone is benefiting from better routes, spaces on dedicated servers or something like that so as not to corrupt the maps and cause crashes. So since the problem is changing maps, especially the End Game ones. I started thinking, isn't this the time when the server sends the map to your PC and it starts processing? So much so that the processor reaches an absurd temperature! What is crashing is not the PC, memories, internet and other things. These are the maps sent upon loading... So it's so simple for GGG to put a Checksum when sending the map and the PC just checks if the map was complete to let it run on the machine. Another important detail, today when trying to enter... I had a queue!!! Where are the good servers? Sorry everyone, but I play COUNTLESS other MMO games with multiple connections and I've never seen anything like this! The point is for GGG to clean up this mess and stop blaming our computers! There's no point, you'll crash! Until later! Opa
