Waist of time, the game is to good. 190k on a Friday morning. Even you being here crying about shows how good it is. You cant just walk away.

The game is supposed to be the next big thing. It is not.

190k is not worth the amount of money Tencent had to spend on this. Any random game from China would have made more money with far lesser investment.

The game that was supposed to be the number 1 ARPG is not even in top 5.

I bought into the hype and got the game but now I am only here because:
1) I do not like dishonest practices.
2) I hope to help people avoid losing time or money.

That's why I always counter placebo workaround posts, counter the false claim of how this cannot cause bricking, and promote actual workarounds.

All of these could have been done by GGG via a single stickied post at the top of this forum. But they do not care enough to do this.

Just a single post explaining how this is indeed a dangerous bug for the PC and an explanation that answers to questions that We-as paying customers- have the right to know:

1) What went wrong?

2) What you are doing to fix it?

3) What possible causes have you eliminated as the source of the problem?

4) What triggers have you discovered that starts the resource hog loop other than "zone change"? (This one is really important because it allows players to create workarounds)

5) What is your estimated time of fix?

6) How did this sort of bug managed to avoid detection in your testing period?

7) What you will be doing to compensate players that have been affected by this issue?

8) Whether refunds would be made available for those that are no longer interested in playing the game?

To other paying customers like me who have spent their money on this faulty product:

As long as GGG is not interested in open communication our only other option is to increase the pressure and warn others by giving a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.
I had this issue frequently at launch and past Christmas. About every 2-5 maps. I noticed my RAM/memory speeds were not set properly and fixed it. This reduced the crashes to about every 5-10 maps but still happened.

I also observed that when i did crash it was during peak hours (mostly) at night.

The patch from yesterday I have not had a single crash (yet). Played about 30 maps last night and 20 this morning.

Seeing some improvements on my side over time.

Vulkan (havent tried going back to dx12 yet on my to-do list)

well, for a while the crashes were gone, but they have returned. about every 5 maps or so, I crash while trying to re-enter a map.

hard crash, total lock up, hard reboot only option.

bump this!
Don't Touch my Sweep please GGG!
Same, pc crashes and locks. support is the shittiest shit of shit i have ever seen, no responce absolutely. 1 star everywhere i could reach.
9800x3d and 4090 here; still crashing on Linux and Windows with the v570 and v571 (just released) NVIDIA drivers.

Please address this. It is with 100% certainty the game is causing these crashes. How are we 7 weeks in without a solution and barely more than an acknowledgement that this problem *might* exist? This is crazy.

checked your recent posts, you have copy pasted this an amazing 17 times across various threads.
hi i post 2 fixes that worked for me here
1) my gpu had 2 16 pin connector , i just swaped them and went fine for 2 weeks.
2) my motherbord was bent bcs of the weight of gpu , bent it back , put something behind it to stay more firm and pc stoped shutting down.
hard crashing my entire PC constantly during load screens.

9800x3d and 4070 TI Super. BIOS, drivers, everything up to date. Settings changes don't impact the crashing. Frankly unacceptable that this still isn't fixed.

A friend of mine found a potential issues for Discord users. Hopefully this helps!

I've been one of the unfortunate many that have been hampered by PoE2 completely locking up my PC on a loading screen where my only recourse is to hit the reset or power button on my PC. I tried every solution out there. I tried rolling back my Win11 version, I tried turning off cores 0 and 1, I tried about everything I could come across. Then I started to try and do some root cause problem solving.

For context, my gaming PC, while getting old, can still play most shit at high or ultra settings with no issue. I run two monitors. My PC components are an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, ASRock B450M Pro4 mobo, G Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB RAM, Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 3080, and a WD Black 2 TB NVME.

When I play I have the game on my left monitor and Discord, browser, or whatever else open on the right monitor. I started noticing that tabbing over to Discord on a loading screen or anyone talking on my Discord server while on a loading screen would cause these random lockups. I also had a browser running with a bunch of tabs. And in addition I had a headset, mouse, keyboard, and led deskpad all from different companies. So the first thing I did was switch those 4 things to all Corsair so I would only be running iCUE. No change.
The next thing I did was kill my browser while playing. No change. Then I tried making sure I would only play after a shutdown. No change.

So then I tried closing out of Discord completely and going into Task Manager to kill any remaining processes. I noticed that loading screens ran smoother in PoE2 and it didn't crash. While playing, I start up Discord, get back on my channel, and keep playing. Then I tell my friends, ok, I'm going to hit a loading screen so let's see what happens and I TP back to the encampment. My friends are talking away on Discord and...my PC locked up. I restart, do everything like I normally would, and this time while PoE2 is starting up and I hit the loading screen before you pick your server my friends are talking on Discord, I'm not saying a word, and my PC locked up again.

Now, something similar happened to me before with Valorant before I stopped playing that. In that case, Valorant would up getting corrupted so I used Revo Uninstaller to completely uninstall Valorant and it's anti-cheat software, did a reinstall, and didn't have the problem again. This time I figure, ok, I'm going to use Revo Uninstaller on Discord and do a deep cleaning throughout my PC to remove any trace of Discord in my Registry and everywhere else throughout my C or D drives.

Revo Uninstaller uninstalls Discord, it gets to the Registry check, and there are a TON of entries for Discord just littered throughout. I delete all of those (MAKE SURE YOU CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT JUST IN CASE). Then it shows me where Revo found anything related to Discord throughout my PC. It found over 3,900+ files across dozens of folders. I deleted all of those. I restart again. I reinstall Discord. I get back on my channel with my friends, I start PoE2, and...no lockups. Now, when they were talking I noticed that there were some "hitches" or hiccups during the loading screens in the game, but it never locked up.

So here's the tl;rd - I suspected Discord was causing PoE2 to lock up and maybe Discord had basically crudded up my entire PC after running it for years. I also thought maybe Discord and PoE2 were fighting over the same resources. To try and solve my lockup issue I used Revo Uninstaller to completely uninstall Discord (CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT), I deleted every flagged Discord entry in my Registry that Revo found, then I deleted every folder and file that Revo found where some trace of Discord still existed (3,900 files across dozens of folders), I reinstalled Discord, started up PoE2, and played through probably 20 to 30 loading screens with the game never locking up. If you tried everything else and any of this sounds familiar to your setup, try reinstalling Discord.

Good luck!

I don't even have discord installed on this fresh PC and am crashing on load screens. I highly doubt it is causing issues.
After quite a few crashes, hard reboot and so on... My PC finished and blue screens appeared.

I did a new installation on W11 PRO 24h2, same thing.

I installed again a few days later on W11 PRO 23h2 and... the SAME!
