I'm officially done playing this game until it's addressed .. and who knows after that ..

The latest "patch notes" video was a joke!

there are 3 main issues that a majority are experiencing, and have been for nearly a month:

Game crashing
Complete system lockup - forcing hard reset or the use of a CPU Affinity (doesn't always work)

Not to mention, the appalling integration (if you want to call it that) with KBM/Controller .. Character Screen to swap? seriously?

The system lockup/crashing is pretty big and should've been address in the patch notes. Using a blanket statement, "If I don't mention the issues, it doesn't mean we aren't working on it", just doesn't cut it. It's not a small issue, and should've been addressed.


Fixing a Toon NPC playing a song was a priority? ..


Just my thoughts anyway, they only mean something to me

I mean fixing an npc to play a sound file and fixing this crash are not even in the same ballpark of bugs. That being said the silence on this issue is deafening. Been playing poe for 12 or 13 years now and I dont ever remember them being this silent on anything.
As long as all the streamers with 10k computers are playing no need to fix anything for the average Joe

That doesn't really mean much, the latest hardware seems to be having issues and a $10k PC isn't much different than mine which is an AMD 9800X3D and a 4080. Sure they may have a 4090 but there isn't much more to really do to a PC to make it more high end. Expensive water cooling maybe?
Negative review on steam here, we need a solution to this problem.

Setting CPU affinity never fixed the soft crash for me (although it did seem to help). It did fix the hard lock allowing me to kill the process. Are you saying switching to core 2 and 3 made the soft lock AND the hard crash stop?
After getting tired of my personnal computer getting freeze with a 100% CPU usage, i got the great idea of putting and trying to see what happens on my ES debug station, which have an out of band CPU thread and memroy analyzer (namelly a debug and software profiling station).

The way they're handling multi threading is threatened by modern standard, upgraded UEFI and well secured OSes as a core threat, thus stopping the suspicious threads marked as threat. Similar to how speculative/transient execution CPU vulnerabilities works.
But as the main program isn't flagged as a threat and is considered secure, the OS do not stop it from generating new threads, and the whole process works like a fork bomb.

At this point, i strongly suggest GGG to make a full review of their networking code and to enable fork bombing detection on their compiler because it is something that should never happens.
