limiting FPS to max monitor refresh rate (175) and disabling nvidia reflex only for poe2 from the NVidia app worked for me, no more hard freeze when transitioning zones, requiring a hard boot.
Also CPU (CPU 5800 X3D) runs 10° cooler.
Rig:
AMD CPU 5800 X3D
32GB RAM
RTX 4090 Founders
2TB Crucial NVMe
EDIT: nm, just hard crashed again after 10 hours of play (non continuous), so wating on a fix from GGG...
Average Experience /\ including all the steps..
crash;
try a fix;
plays for a while, think it's all fixed;
oh it crashed again..
repeat all the steps above. Now you've found the freeze crash infinite loop simulator. It becomes more difficulty each step but you can increase you playtime by some minutes every loop you complete.. I've been playing this loop simulator for 2 weeks by now, im tired.. GGG Patch this pls

To anyone who just bought the game:
If you crashed once,
You will crash again.
For "loading freeze", there is a workaround called PoEUncrasher. It is a third party program. Decide on your own if you want to install a third party program to play a 30$ or 100$ game.
For other freezes, there are no fixes.
It is not Win 11, Win 10, Linux. If an OS can run PoE2, someone has crashed on it and you can probably see their message on one of the 650+ pages.
If you are using NVIDIA or AMD, there are some specific crashes that happen there but none are the "hard freeze" that requires manually shutting down your computer.
Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.
Honestly, what's wrong with you?
You haven't bought the game, the game hasn't been released yet, and the game is in Early Access!
You paid for a developer support package so they could make this game perfect, and instead of helping, you're whining......
My game crashed and slowed down my entire computer, but I sat down and figured it out and now I'm playing without problems!
And if you can't figure it out on your own, then wait for the release of the game and if problems remain, then write negative reviews!
Windows 11 Pro Release
Version 23H2
Installation date 12/14/2024
OS Build 22631.4602
Interaction Windows Component Interface Package 1000.22700.1055.0
AND Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor 4.20GHz
RAM 32 Gb
Nvidia 4070Ti
Once again, after setting up the computer, I play without brakes, crashes and freezes!
If not getting passed the load screen is considered "Early Access" then we have some new problems coming in the future lol.

I'm sick to my stomach that there is no response from the devs other than send us your dxdiag considering this has been happening and damaging my PC parts since LAUNCH.

Yes, we paid so the developers could finish the game. But:
1) reporting bugs and expecting them to be fixed is not whining. This issue is being disccused here since early December, and no fix for something as big as this for a month is an issue
2) yes, it is EA, there will be bugs. Everyone knows that. I should be able to get into the game, to find said bugs and properly report them. Endangering my PC is not what this is for. If it is in EA, I expect a game that is safe for my hardware. Crashes? Absolutely. Hard crashes that cycle your computer and totally freeze it? Definitely not.
3) I paid for something that should work. Getting a 3rd party software is obsolete. Why should anyone do the devs job instead of them. Same for changing my settings, how do I know it is safe? Just because someone said so on the internet? Come on...

Get Windows 10.
No 3rd party tools, no other bs needed. The game runs smooth and fine (150-200 fps at max res+settings), not 1 single PC freeze since switch from Win 11. So tell me again, how GGG should fix the game, that is "oooo so broken". And yes, I've played a lot, and yes the game is still running. Currently at 460 playing hours, ~ 150-200h since the switch.

GGG has put this issue in "High priority list" of "Known issues"
Hope for the fix soon.
PoE nowadays looks more and more like a fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players.

Good for you, it didn't work for me nor for 3 of my friends. W10 is not a surefire method of not crashing, as it isn't anything in this thread or the other one, sadly.
