For "loading freeze", there is a workaround called PoEUncrasher. It is a third party program. Decide on your own if you want to install a third party program to play a 30$ or 100$ game.

For other freezes, there are no fixes.

It is not Win 11, Win 10, Linux. If an OS can run PoE2, someone has crashed on it and you can probably see their message on one of the 650+ pages.

If you are using NVIDIA or AMD, there are some specific crashes that happen there but none are the "hard freeze" that requires manually shutting down your computer.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

Honestly, what's wrong with you?

You haven't bought the game, the game hasn't been released yet, and the game is in Early Access!

You paid for a developer support package so they could make this game perfect, and instead of helping, you're whining......

My game crashed and slowed down my entire computer, but I sat down and figured it out and now I'm playing without problems!

And if you can't figure it out on your own, then wait for the release of the game and if problems remain, then write negative reviews!

Once again, after setting up the computer, I play without brakes, crashes and freezes!

durning campain I had several freezes. I did 200 hours of mapping and got 2 freezes during breaches but nothing else. I just started a new character and got 3 lockup freezes during portaling in A1. The problem seems to be in the portaling I had this also a lot with my other 2 low characters.

People don't seem to realize that they think their placebo fix works (PoEUncrasher, and other such bandaids to temporarily fix this game breaking bug) don't actually fix the problem. It just prolongs it until they see their next crash. It will eventually happen -- again -- whether it's in the campaign or in maps.

You shouldn't have to download a 3rd party executable to run this on a modern PC.

We get it. Your CPUs and GPUs are 5-10 years old. A lot of people have new stuff where this game literally does not work without bricking their PC.

Stop simping for this company -- if this were any other publisher they would be crucified.

I 100% agree with this.

I have the same problem: Windows 11 24H2, 7800X3d, RTX4090, 64GB RAM.

What I've tried:

I have now Process Lasso and unselected permanent 0 and 1 Core.
Run it in Vulcan
As admin
Compatibility Win 8

Sometimes still crashes and freezes my PC

DXDIAG with no errors


Funny is that my brother with Pentium CPU and AMD video card in Windows 10 and who never had problems, since yesterday cannot reach even the Login screen because his PC freezes and had to install the game on his daughter laptop.

I just wonder, how long it will take for a fix and not a bandaid? In the past there were Leagues I could not play few days after a patch because of constant disconnects and crashes and I understand they were in holyday ut I expect the next patch to address this problem more than the balance/nerfs.

Bump as there is still nothing being done here.

So we got several threads about this ongoing at the same time, 2 of which are over 330 pages long. Also the GGG reply to both does not work. You cant PM him and you cant attach files to a PM either.

Since I started playing (120 Hours), I've had approximately eight to ten hard crashes where I have to manually restart my rig. I mostly get crashes where the game starts bogging down and I can usually alt+Tab out and Stop the game in Steam before my system freezes, completely. The soft crashes are far more frequent and happen at random times. Winver is Win11 24H2 Build 26100. At this point, I am scared to play, as I do not want to damage my rig.

limiting FPS to max monitor refresh rate (175) and disabling nvidia reflex only for poe2 from the NVidia app worked for me, no more hard freeze when transitioning zones, requiring a hard boot.
Also CPU (CPU 5800 X3D) runs 10° cooler.

EDIT: nm, just hard crashed again after 10 hours of play (non continuous), so wating on a fix from GGG...

Today is their first day back, so hopefully soon we should get some news of their plan to attack this issue.
