Hard crashing PC locks up
" I'm not out here defending Blizzard using half-truths and misinformation, am I? I obviously gave examples from the two most prominent games in online gaming sector: WoW and FFXIV. They are rivals by the way. And unlike you I was knowledgeable enough to know how their launches went and their problems with spaghetti code how despite their problems neither had left their paying customers on the lurch like this. You on the other hand keep shilling for GGG. NVIDIA's fix is not related to this crash(hard crash), theirs is the other crash (crash to desktop and BSOD). The difference between the two is that one shows up on event viewer and logs, the other most often does not because system cannot even log it due to being unresponsive. And here you are with your lack of understanding or purposeful misleading: "PS The justification that the kernel mode (or even ring -2?) contains vulnerabilities that allow the system to be compromised by the low privilege limited application sounds totally absurd in terms of software engineer and the severity of the problem." In the context, the key is that a program that one installs in their PC from a trusted installer and run by choice will have access to a lot of system functions due to good-faith. From your logic, we shouldn't be putting volume controls in PCs, because the users can damage their ears by pumping up the volume. PoE2 is like your media player suddenly decides to randomly blast the volume up. Will a Realtek patch that addresses a crash due to a clash with keyboard drivers fix it? No. Same way Nvidia's patch won't be fixing this issue, which by the way also affects AMD. Funny how you claim to be so knowledgeable about software yet do not know that a Nvidia driver cannot fix or cause a problem with AMD GPU. (I can already sense you typing: "Uh oh! What if it was installed with AMD drivers!" in hopes to derail the thread.) Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. I apologize for any unanswered messages. Last edited by Cainrith#2807 on Dec 31, 2024, 8:12:36 AM

" Mark Ybarra's tweet regarding PoE2 crashes " That doesn't mean it's Windows, obviously, as proven by this thread. But I agree with darknuub#7440 that this issue gaining some traction can only help. Well, maybe. Perhaps it would help if the United Nations resigned and reaffirmed their 1945 Charter and included a PoE2 clause demanding that exile rights to play the game be restored. Maybe, then. Maybe. Last edited by interbeing#5112 on Dec 31, 2024, 8:46:20 AM

Damn brother, I can't wait for Windows to fix their update so PoE (1 and 2) stop locking up my Linux. [Removed by Support]
As a matter of fact this is happening on 3 builds. - 7800X3D, RTX 4090, W10 - 5950X, 6950XT, Mint - 5800X3D, RTX 3080, W11 23H2 98 games in my steam library, yet miraculously this only happens with PoE 1 and 2. Clearly, without doubt, this is purely a W11 24H2 issue. [Removed by Support] Ridiculous. Last edited by Vash_GGG#0000 on Dec 31, 2024, 7:24:34 PM

After crashing in POE 2 multiple times this way, my pc has since crashed twice in in the same way while:
1. Simple remote desktop browsing 2. Editing video in Davinci Resolve This has never happened before the last 10 days, when POE 2 began crashing all the time. Perhaps it could help point towards a common thread to locate the issue? Last edited by treigzak#1753 on Dec 31, 2024, 9:13:00 AM

" Not to derail thread, but if you're on 13/14th gen Intel, your CPU is fried, RMA it and isntall the newest BIOS before you put any hours on the new chip. |

Hello, same thing happened with my 6800xt + 12700kf pair on w11 24h2, i was playing poe2 and suddenly on about 10-11 dec ( i think i had updated my windows last night before going to bed ) my pc had its first full freeze which instantly got me worried. I liked the game very much up until like mid act3 and had been waiting for it since like 2019 so i continued playing... After a couple of more freezes the next day, my Pc suddenly started doing the same freeze like it did on poe2 but at idle desktop or while browsing twitch or youtube and thats when i knew i was fkced. It also seems weird to me that my monitors power light did not change colour which it always does when there is no signal. After like many many restarts either from the pc case button or psu switch i managed to put some important files on a usb stick and sent the PC to my local trusted pc repair guy. He tried doing a format to windows 10 after we discussed it because i keep reading w11 is buggy ( especially 24h2 ) and it got done but when he tried to install the amd gpu drivers, boom feeeze again, so its a hardware problem it seems... He tried putting on another gpu and it doesnt freeze. I could go on about how this destroyed both my christmas and birthday and how it happened the worst time possible meaning after black friday and a month before the new gpus release let alone poe2 EA release ( which obviously needs work though ). Now i am counting like 18-19 days without my PC and typing this from my fcking smartphone which i hate doing. I know this is not an important problem in the grand scheme of things, like get a life dude and go do something else, but it really fked me up. Now i am trapped between buying an old gen gpu or waiting the new ones until at least early March when gpu availability and pricing etc is normal in my country ( Europe ), but i am thinking even if i buy an old gen one now, poe2 is still bricked and i may as well keep waiting, but i see so many people streaming it without problems and i get frustrated....

Uninstalling Asus Armoury Crate fixed this, figured this could help. Use the unistallaion tool asus provides.

" Another crazy suggestion. Ok, what about those that don't have Asus hardware and aren't running Armoury Crate? |

Hard to believe that people are still arguing here lol, the amount of wasted energy. Have a drink guys, take a well deserved break like the GGG team, it's going to be alright, your system will survive another crash, the issue is going to be fixed, Jesus lol
