Hard crashing PC locks up

Crashing too. Can't believe we will have to pass holidays without fix..
To EVGA FTW Card Owners:

After trying every trick and tip mentioned on this forum (and everything else I could think of), I decided to experiment with something I hadn't tried yet.

I flipped the OC switch on my GPU back to the normal setting, and since then, I haven't experienced any crashes in games like Path of Exile 2, Helldivers, or anything else I've played recently.

It could just be placebo, but so far, it seems to be working. Worth a shot if you're having similar issues!
Hi! Due to the fact that the topic is gaining momentum and many people can not play normally, I suggest to help understand the developers direction to solve the problem
By collecting statistics.
We have created a form where you can specify your PC configuration and attach a dxdiag file as requested by Timothy_GGG https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-posts/Timothy_GGG-0000.

Link to the form: https://forms.yandex.com/cloud/676004d9e010db19370ab6c2/.

I ask everyone to fill in the form, including people who don't have problems with PC freezing, so you will get structured statistics with problematic and working configurations. This should help to identify patterns of error occurrence, which in turn will speed up troubleshooting of the game.

(at least the information about configurations will not be scattered in the comments of the thread (220 pages omg)).

A dashboard with these statistics you must see there https://datalens.yandex/5rpsrgqcmw9ws.

Has anyone had success gaming consistently without crashes at loading screens by just turning the Multithreading option off before fast traveling? Enable it back when you are back to blasting? This is what I see shroud do.

I put some thought into this post and what I then did has totally solved the crash freeze issue that has plagued me since buying POE2... no other solution posted thus far has helped. 5 hours of play in 3 sessions + at least 20 portals across all parts of the game to test.

1. Uninstall POE2 and if you have it POE1 as well.
2. Important... delete both POE1 and 2 folders from your Documents/ My Games folder.
3. Do a search on your drive(s) for anything "Path of Exile", highlight all results and delete the files and folders then do the same search for "Grinding Gears" just in case there's any remnants that may be there. Then, empty your recycle bin!
4. Clean your shader cache... empty that sucker.
5. Rerun a scan in Nvidia App and make certain Path of exile is gone from your installed games.
6. Restart windows.
7. Do a fresh install of POE2 only (don't install POE1)
8. Start the game and redo your settings to taste. I left it on DX12 to really test it without Vulkan. Then exit the game and then restart it.
9. Ready to play... load in and hold your breath.

Once I was loading in I noticed the gears turning much smoother. When I started playing, I ran about while shaders compiled. The game was much smoother and ran well. I ported around maps and was overjoyed when they all loaded without freezing. Hard to explain but everything was running much better.

The big question... Is there a conflict between the 2 POE versions causing issues?

PS. Just did another 2 hour session and no crashes! CPU and GPU are also cooler.

Wtf it actually worked! Thank you.

Tried it and it doesn't work for me

Did you limit fps in game? I think that small step make it easier to not go over the board. Yeah suck that top end hardware need to bi limited but if it adds some stability then screw those extra 10 wobbling frames.

Works like a charm. It even can recover freezed loading by change process to realtime.
