Hard crashing PC locks up
I started to get this full crash as well. It started after recent windows updates. I had 24H2 before though. I uninstalled recent updates, but the issue is remain.
All other games are totally fine. |

" I genuinely feel that my system runs smoother overall after downgrading to 23H2, and I highly recommend that anyone who hasn’t tried it yet gives it a shot. If even half of you solve the freezing issue this way, that would be a huge win. After a few days of research, my conclusion is that something is fundamentally wrong with the recent update. If Microsoft really messed up the scheduler or how some CPU cores are managed, only they can fully address the issue. We don’t know the exact problem or how far this could go, there might even be a need for BIOS updates on affected systems. After so many days of dealing with freezes, trying various workarounds, endless restarts, and sitting through countless loading screens, I’m so glad I finally found a solution that worked for me. I haven’t experienced a single freeze in the past couple of days, and I wanted to share this in case it helps others. On a side note, I’m quite annoyed that nobody from GGG has provided any concrete updates or insights into this issue. Even a small update to give us an idea of what’s going on would’ve been appreciated. |

" I played 3 days on 24h2 without any problem until december 9 patch. Problems only in POE2. Clean reinstall only for 1 game - no thanks. Glad it worked for you though. And you have time to reinstall and then setting up system. Last edited by Diarm#7740 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:45:28 AM

I haven't played since the 8th. But today I decided to try it. Enabled monitoring of processor load and its temperature. Finally. I was able to log into the game, I was able to load the character, at these moments the processor load jumped from 60% to 100%, at the moment of 100% there was a micro-lag for a fraction of a second, the processor temperature was kept around 50-60%, which is very good. BUT do you know at what point my PC froze?? I pressed the U button to open the map, saw the gears, and that's it, everything is exactly the same as it was before when loading the location, the PC just froze. How do you like the new case? I couldn't open the CARD. And someone here writes something about Windows versions and something else.

For those experiencing constant crashes/freezes and looking for real solutions, do not listen to people claiming that changing a simple setting like DX version magically fixed everything. Plenty of players, including myself, have already confirmed these are not permanent fixes, and their systems still crash/freeze.
I have personally tried everything mentioned below (and probably forgot half of it because I’ve literally tested every tweak suggested in these forum threads): What I’ve Tried So Far: POE2 Video Setting Tweaks (DirectX11, DirectX12, Vulkan, FPS limiting, graphical settings—you name it) BES (CPU limitations: -2%, -5%, -10%—game crashes but doesn’t crash the whole PC) Lasso (Disabling 2 CPUs—same result, the game still crashes 8/10 times during loading) NVIDIA Settings Tweaks Adding Exceptions to Firewall & Windows Defender Removing Latest Windows Updates FRESH INSTALLING WINDOWS 23H2 (Using UUPDump & Rufus) Result: None of these work. It’s absolutely insane that some people still claim switching DX versions magically resolves everything and call others "nerds." Seriously, just stop. Go play your game. --- To GGG: I’m beyond frustrated that there has been no insight or proper details from you regarding this issue, other than blaming Windows 24H2. Sure, the game might be a massive success for those who can actually play it. But for the rest of us? This is a complete shame. Enjoy your holidays while leaving us stuck with a broken experience. Well done. |

Has anyone tried turning memory integrity off in settings and seeing if that helps?
I don't have the issue here, nor an AMD chip, but this helped identify the similar sounding problem I had in cyberpunk that was then fixed by changing the core isolation mode |
