Hard crashing PC locks up

Dude is running Windows 23H2 and a INTEL i9 14900K CPU and a RTX 4090 24GB GPU.

The ONLY thing that worked to let him get into the game to play for a bit was to completely lower or disable every single graphic setting and make the game look ugly and bland. He kills the Devourer boss, and then as soon as he portals back to town - CRASH!

Nothing works. Doesn't matter what CPU you have, or what Windows you have, or DX vs. Vulcan, or anything else. Your system will eventually crash while playing POE2. If it hasn't yet, you are simply on borrowed time.

This guy's frustration is what everyone here has been going through this past week.

Not a peep from GGG on this? Why? Where are they?

I have a new video out discussing this issue that we're all dealing with here in this thread. Help bring awareness and spread the video if you can.

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZMCHFqOtSA

I also compiled 12 fixes that have worked for others in to the video with convenient timestamps to skip around. GGG needs to fix this.

We should organize a mass negative voting on steam. This is the only way left now. Maybe then they would care.
YEah i have a 9800x3d CPU, a 4080super, and 64gb of ram. No other games have any issues, I have no issues with temperatures. This is the game itself and its interaction with windows.

I get hard crashes of PC some times (cpu hits 100% during loading screens and dies), and if I change the CPU affinity to not use 2 cores, The game crashes. Basically maps mapping pointless (keep losing my waystones).

Cannot roll back win11 24h2 to 23h2 (as suggested) as rollback period is limited and has expired. Weird that they haven't even mentioned this problem in any of their posts, as I can see posts all over reddit, POE forums, and these steam discussions.

Best case for me is after a full reboot, open nothing else, boot up the game, set the cpu affinity, and play. But that means no discord, no chrome, nothing. Not ideal.

WOW I realize im much MUCH more polite than piratesoftware when it comes to the OS version topic LMAO

He also said multiple times how he has not experienced or never had an issue like this in any game!

Merry Christmas everyone! We got your money you sorry Diablo 4 suckers. You thought Blizzard was money hungry - wait til you see the Houdini we're going to pull. We'll market the hell out of our game is a hardcore ARPG, get everyone to buy it cause we put out a killer showcase. Then, a small portion of the community with high end hardware won't be able to play, they'll crash constantly at loading screens. We won't acknowledge the issue whatsoever, leave them hanging for the holidays and Happy New Year everyone!
Pirate's error log shows multiple Shader Compiler Error during his crashes.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\logs\Client.txt

^If your system didn't hard crash, you'll probably see the Shader Compiler Error in that log. But a hard crash would most likely not let the compiler error be recorded in time.

Open it up and scan through it - you might find other errors as well!

His PC kept running after the game crash, so the logs kept recording, and caught the Shader Compiler Errors.

So, there. GGG - go fix THAT so we can play!

How I can play the game atm after 4 days of trying every single "fix" on the internet

open task manager before launching the game, as soon as I launch the game I disable cores 0 and 1, which will prevent the pc from completely freezing and I can just close the game from task manager if it crashes. you can use lasso to do this but I haven't bothered

then if you can get past launching and into the game without a crash, you then need to disable multithreading in graphics options before literally every single load screen, portal, or zone transition, you can turn it back on after you zone in so you can play at normal fps, though If I'm teleporting to town I just leave it off until I'm back out in the world.

since I started doing this and I make it past launching the game and logging into my character, I haven't had a single crash of any kind and can play for as long as I want at full graphics, just remember you can never forget to switch off multithreading for every single teleport/zone transition of any kind

Also for some reason rebooting my pc every day seems to make the game run better and gives me far higher chance of not freezing when launching the game or logging into my character
