Who are these key beggars?

I don't judge them either.

After 12 years of playing PoE 1; if I was unable to buy a key myself due to severe economic reasons, be that poverty, obscure prices due to regional pricing or whatever, I would probably make one of these threads myself.

I have given away 2 keys, but none of them on the forums. I would happily give away a key to a random guy that needs it (be that poverty, obscure regional pricing or whatever). The thing is, everyone can be whoever they want on the internet, and make up the saddest story. You just have no real way of knowing if he's just cheap, or is going to make a few quick bucks by selling it.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

be careful i know of one person begging for keys only to resell them elsewhere xD

Of course. There is a certain d2 trading site you can check right now and see the keys being “traded”
WHO?
Never played an RPG before and saw this trending all over my feeds. So I'm here. Then I saw I had to pay 30 USD and some ppl giving away keys for free. So that's who and why.
Cheers

edit: "Your account does not have access to Path of Exile 2 Early Access. Bribe a friend who has a spare key or purchase now." LOL! Even the game makers are fine with asking for keys. Sadly none of my friends play this game. Hope to make some here soon!

In my country, the price of the pack is doubled. I also don't understand why it is like that
I can afford $30, but $60 is a different issue

My hypothesis is that most people begging for a key are under 18 years old, unemployed, and lack parental finances. The darker hypothesis is that they're just cheap-skates exploiting charitable individuals.

People saying the price is too high in their country aren't actually providing a good excuse for begging. For example, yes, I would LOVE to own a Ferrari sports car. Who wouldn't? But I'm not going and asking millionaires to give me their Ferrari just because I really want to drive it.

So, you're too cheap to spend money on a new experience and would rather beg. Interesting. Not even gonna try to say you're too poor or anything. In my view, you're exploiting the charity of others.

In general, begging is simply shameful. In the USA, it's a social norm not to beg publicly unless you're desperately in need. This sort of behavior is deplorable in our country. Giveaways are a different story. See, there, no one is begging. It's nuanced, but that's how it works.

I think you probably should look into the reasons why, before judging the act of begging. But that's a debate that doesn't really belong on a gaming forum.

No, actually, you should look into it. I know the why. And I agree with it. So if you want to continue arguing in favor of begging, bring something substantial to the discussion for once. Since you are now backing out by saying this topic is unrelated to this forum, then I suppose your replies are now over.

If you really feel that way, I encourage you to contact the forum mods to investigate your claim. Lol, good 1 bro.

I also know the why, and I also agree with it. But do you really think that why applies to everyone, especially on these forums?

You were born in a country with a developed economy, and your currency has a high value, but I am not as fortunate as you
My country has a political system full of corruption and the economy is unstable
My monthly basic salary converted to dollars is 360 USD. Do you think I can spend 60 USD to buy a pack ?
You talk as if we were born in the same stable and developed country
Now I can play Poe 2
Thank so much, bro
But you do have a pc/console that can run the game, an fast internet connection, ... :)
And then again: THE GAME WILL BE FREE IN A FEW MONTHS

No one has a high-powered PC, internet, access to reliable 500 watts of power and comfort enough to not be able to afford a $30 game which is also actually going to be free anyway. The only reason is if you're a literal underaged kid who can't work and your parents provide all that stuff for you.
