Well. Unfortunately, I will skip 0.2 update.

So yeah, I won't be able to test things or offer any support for some time here.

I'll try to adjust maxroll page with the changes, but that's it.

Good luck, guys. have fun.

Sad to hear this, but things happen. You've given everyone an excellent starting point so far -- thanks again for that!
Aye sad to hear monik. Something in RL come up, or wanting to play a different game? Curious as you have been a great help in this thread and answered questions for many. Will be missed.

To answer the ice nova question someone had, I recently ran from scratch a chrono sorc up to lvl 95. Cleared everything outside of max Sim as I have a different char who runs that with friends.

Gotta say, I prefer ice nova over frostbolt for a few reasons.
1) if you are like me and like mapping with gaze, ice nova frees up another big mana dps ring.
2) mapping in general feels better, as ice nova can hit mobs/walls with elevation or in tight corridors far better. I found the only times my defense is at risk is when things at range stay up due to elevation, Los, things like that.
3) frees up spell projectile speed tree points that I found you had to play with with frostbolt
4) targeted impact area for additional cc is pretty handy

I haven't done Sim, so frostbolt might be far superior in that map type. However, I'll probably run nova if we get a wipe/reset

Build is very fun. Credit to monik and others.

Can you clarify what you mean by targeted impact area? And are you still using wall with this setup/using nova to explode them? Assuming yes -- does this mean you're mostly casting walls near yourself? How much unbuffed damage was your nova doing at 95?

I finally got to 95 yesterday and was able to slot one more jewel. This was my goal before the reset, but haven't been playing as much lately so it took a while.

The reset is just around the corner:

You'll be able to play the 0.2.0 content update at 12PM on April 4th PDT on PC and Consoles.

Somewhere on the forums it definitely said this was a new season/league, but I can't seem to find that post now.

Yea I still cast walls although while mapping you can often cast it on a pack or rare to cause it to explode. Otherwise yes the ice nova can be cast on it for it to explode.

My ice nova tooltip in my hideout without any temp buffs sits at ~35k. Im at work, but guessing this is lvl 27 gem level (5 from wand, 1 from tree, 1 from +1 cold gem, and a lvl 20 gem) At a 4 link it was I think 31k ish, but I added a +1 to cold skills just cause. You could add more cc or more dmg, but the 35k is enough to break walls.

Big dmg though always comes from your comets and walls. I tried to pump my Comet dmg within my budget (~55 divine)

Personally, if I was you, grab 4 link ice nova (lvl 19 gem) with a good dps ring to replace the fork ring and try it out. It's what I did and it just felt far better.

I might try it out in the new league, I got a lucky find some weeks ago (high % Adorned) and ended up going the spark route after I sold it. So convenient. But yeah nova sounds potentially better than bolt on many map types.

I did enjoy the bolt gameplay a lot though, so if they add a support gem that prevents pierce I might try that again... hard to say if it would suffice for breaking walls without the forking from Snakepit, though. Probably not. At least not without taking that passive that reduces wall hp, but that feels like a waste. Guess we'll see!
Hey fellow Chronomancers, looks like we will eventually get the ability to use ascendancy skills on weapon set 2 but unfortunately not in 0.2.2. Looks like it's an easy/quick fix.

Here's the link to Jonathan talking about it for anyone that's interested that didn't watch the full video.

Still exciting to see assuming the duration/time freeze skill isn't nerfed.
How's this build looking in 0.2?

tl;dr: Nerf to all sorceress mana stacking builds is massive. Feel free to consider playing another class.
In terms of Ascendancies, we got no nerfs, some buffs, and a new skill. Stormweaver got nuked.

Unless there are some other ways to scale the damage, Archmage is still the way, but the biggest thing is Eldrich battery and Archmage interaction. If EB doubles the base mana cost - it's bearable. If it doubles the mana cost with Archmage included - that's brutal.

Time Freeze is still here tho. Other nerfs and buffs are bearable.

Campaign Experience is buffed. Freeze build-up nerf negated by new supports and buff to Freezing Shards build-up.

Endgame is nerfed to the ground, and there is only 1 MoM-EB-CI approach - no-ES full mana stacking glasscannon.
If EB counts Archmage - it's probably as good as dead.
Probably have to drop CI and get chaos res - the price for this kind of gear would be way higher now. Would need a sceptre with a 70-80% increase of the presence range too.
Spark is dead, Ice Nova is the way for non-Frostbolt builds. Astral projection is buffed with more AoE.
Quicksand Hourglass is more attractive to get too, 50% uptime is good.
New Unleash skill should be good.

~~~~~
Nerfs:
- Freeze now builds up roughly 48% slower on enemies.
- Presence base radius is now 4 metres (previously 6 metres).
- The Eldritch Battery Keystone Passive Skill now has the additional property of "Doubles Mana Cost".
- The Mana Blessing Notable Passive Skill no longer has 5% increased maximum Mana, and now provides 20% increased Mana Regeneration Rate.
- Archmage now causes Non-Channelling Spells to Gain 3% of Damage as extra Lightning damage for each 100 maximum Mana you have at all Gem levels (previously 5-6% at Gem levels 14-20). Non-Channelling Spells now cost an additional 6.7-6.1% of your maximum Mana at gem levels 14-20 (previously 5.35-5.05%). Quality now provides 0-10% reduced Reservation, instead of granting Non-Channelling Spells Gain 0-2% of Damage as extra Lightning Damage for each 100 maximum Mana you have.
- Conductivity now causes Cursed enemies to have -25% to Lightning Resistance at Gem level 7 (previously -32%), scaling up to -29% at Gem level 20 (previously -36%).
- The Dream Fragments Unique Ring now provides 10% increased maximum Mana (previously 20%).
- The Morior Invictus Unique Body Amour can no longer roll 5% increased Maximum Mana per Socketed Rune or Soul Core
- Grim Feast can no longer be engraved in the Gemcutting menu. Existing Grim Feast Gems have been disabled, we aim to rework Grim Feast in the coming future.
- Frost Wall now has a Cooldown of 5 seconds (previously 3 seconds).
- Considered Casting now has a 115% Cost Multiplier.
- Overcharge Support no longer causes Supported Skills to have less Shock Duration. It now has "Shocks caused by Supported Skills are reflected back to you".
- Spell Echo Support can no longer support Triggered Skills.
- The Everlasting Gaze Unique Amulet now causes you to gain 4-6% of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield (previously 20-30%), provides 40-60% increased Mana Regeneration Rate (previously 50%), and +40-60 to maximum Mana (previously +50). Existing versions of this Unique can be updated to the new values using a Divine Orb.
- The Melting Maelstrom Unique Flask no longer has the property of "Recover all Mana when Used". This change does not affect existing versions of the item.
~~~~~

Buffs:

- The Quicksand Hourglass Ascendancy Passive Skill now grants "Every 10 seconds, gain 50% more Cast Speed for 5 seconds (previously Every 12 seconds, gain 50% more Cast Speed for 4 seconds).

- Added a new Flood of Echoes Ascendancy Passive Skill that grants the Unleash Skill.

- Cold Snap now has an explosion radius of 1.6 metres (previously 0.7 metres).

- Blink is now a Travel Skill.

- Frost Bomb now has Pulse and Explosion radius is 2-2.7 metres at Gem levels 1-20 (previously 1.7-2.4).

- Sceptres can now only roll up to 80% increased Presence Area of Effect (previously 30%).

- Soul Offering now grants 56-77% increased Spell Damage at Gem levels 13-20, rather than 32-39% more Spell Damage.

~~~~~
Questionable:
- Modifiers to curse effect have been changed to instead apply to curse magnitude. This means that they are additive with any other modifiers to the effect of the debuff on the target. For example, curse magnitude and slow magnitude are now additive with each other for Temporal Chains.
- Freezing Shards now fires 5 projectiles (previously 7), and now has 100% more Freeze Buildup (previously 50%).
~~~~~

Holy cow. I was expecting Archmage nerf, but not like this. 3% at all skill gem levels is...ugh, more than I expected. I thought everything would still be ok even with up to 50% nerf, but they went with 66% (currently we have 9% at lvl 21/20%).

I wonder how it will interact with Eldrich Battery too. If EB will double the mana cost with Archmage - it's damn brutal.

Overall, mana stacking sorceress suffers a lot this time. LC SWs got nerfed to the ground too, even more than we did.

Grim Feast is removed from the game, Everlasting Gaze (and others) is nuked.

Overall, MoM-EB-CI is viable as non-ES only, and we will get more mana from EB bc there are better iron runes. But still, there are huge problems.

Melting Maestorm is no more as good, means we are we only class now that can use CoC-Comet with Archmage. Spell echo nerfed for CoC, but there are some other damage supports that can be used instead of it.

Nerf to Frost Wall CD is huge, definitely would need some CDR here.

New Unleash skill should be good. A bit questionable if it would be worth using over Apex of the Moment.

Regardless of how they would buff Cold Snap, it's unusable in the endgame.

I wish I'd had the time to play. Unfortunately, I have to skip this league to solve IRL problems.

Skills didn't got any changes at least in this patch notes. Cast on Crit, Frost Bombs, Frost Wall got a bit of delay but still. So I might say right now that the build is pretty much safe for leveling?

However. For the Endgame it's another story. We getting less Spirit in the endgame cuz Scepters are cooked and no longer gonna provide additional spirit with quality which is fkin dumb af
Archmage is cooked. Eldritch Battery is cooked. Less Jewel slots. Ingenuity got massacred, Everlasting Gaze is killed. Dream Fragments is nerfed. Morior - butt slapped. Maelstrom got gutted. Anything basically nerfed for mana stacking.

I would not risk to start a league with this one. Seems like they wanna make us play warrior lol.

We need to know now what else they did with a Passive Tree in general. And also what is gonna provide new uniques and supports.

P.S. Is not as bad a Demonform Hexblast. This thing is literally dead. All my builds is dead basically.

Yeah, leveling should be even better, besides Frost Wall on bosses. Not as good as before for sure xD

Current late-game build is totally destroyed.

End-game build is nerfed hard, but, unless EB doubles Archmage mana cost too, it would be viable with Ice Nova, but yeah, hitting 5k mana would be hard tho. Currently dream frags add 1600 mana to me, so its 4.4k w/o it. 5k mana is definitely doable without ingenuity.
If EB doubles Archmage cost too - well, rip. Have to play w/o it somehow.

I think that the late-game build is basically removed and replaced by an end-game build. I expect a drastic decrease in the price of the gear, so yeah.

I wish I could play the game this time, honestly excited to find solutions. Well, f.
