Cold Chronomancer Megathread. All content cleared. Leveling guide added. Low-budget build added.

"
Just curious if anyone else plans to stick with cold chrono in the new season? At first I was thinking I'd try something new, but with limited time to play and the fact that I haven't quite finished EVERYTHING yet with this character, now I'm thinking I might just rerun this build in the next league.

I will rerun it 100% unless there is a Hierophant release that can make me want to play it (I'm interested in Spell Totems). I have no interest in anything else atm (like Huntress or Druid).

There are two reasons for this:

1) I'm fully aware of how to play it and what it is capable of. I'm very satisfied with the price/performance rate. EA start was very rough, but that's because we had no idea what to do. Things changed since then. I did a rerun a few weeks ago and have a proper understanding of each step on every budget range.

It is always better to start with smth familiar and experiment with new things later. The basic concept of "league starters".

2) I expect meta-shift and hard nerfs. This is the most popular forum build thread here with so much work done, so I have to adjust the build to the future changes. I will consider this build dead only if GGG screws it completely to an unplayable state.

- Let me be honest here - I'm fine with up to 50% nerf of Archmage if there aren't any alternatives to it.
If it would be like 20-30% nerf, we are totally fine.

- I expect Soul Offering nerf, so it won't work on the offset. In this case things are easy - Omen -> Rattling sceptre on the main weapon set and Sigil of Power on the secondary weapon set. I actually consider using Chiming stuff on the offset later as a must. A damage boost will help a lot to beat pinnacles early.

- Not sure about Time Freeze. It is literally a cheat button on a fresh start. Ikr it's a Chronomancer signature skill, but it's the only alternative to big damage to skip pinnacle boss mechanics.

@Monik390

Why do you use increased chaos damage on your latest wand in the end game/v2 variants?

If you put this somewhere in this thread I missed it wasn't able to find any information with the search. Thanks ahead of time.

Chaos damage on the wand does nothing at all. It simply was the best wand I could afford back then (+4 all skills, >80% crit chance, >30% cast speed, some mana and spell damage).
Well, I fixed this thing on maxroll. Chaos -> lightning damage.
I wish i had it in game xD
So, there is a thing i wanted to share. Sigil of Power demo.
I slapped Chiming staff on my medium budget toon instead of duration shield/rattling.

So, Xesht lvl 82 (Impetus+Energy Retention):

In comparison to my previous gif (Conc/Ele Focus, duration shield offset):

~~~~
It is stronger even with Impetus/ER.
Close to my Spark-LC SW (should be about the same with Conc/Ele Focus):
Spoiler
How to (For medium-budget builds):
1) Get a Chiming Staff with a lot of mana and some +x lvl to all spells.
2) Get a decent unset ring (to swap with Snakepit).
3) Put Skeleton Clerics, bind 2 on weapon set 2.
4) Spam skills before the boss emerge to get Sigil stages.
5) Destroy.
Skeleton Clerics will be inactive until you put Unset ring instead of Snakepit.
Easier for the Endgame builds bc we have a free skill gem slot to play around (instead of Grim Feast).
Problems:
- It would be a problem w/o Melting Maelstorm tho,
- On some bosses getting to 4th stage probably won't be as easy as on Xesht/Arbiter.
- 2 Skeleton Clerics require 40 spirit. Can't fit on the double curse in Blasphemy w/ Heightened Curse. Not that much of a problem, but it messes with Time Freeze duration a lot. On the medium budget, it's ok if turn off Grim Feast on the boss.
Anyway, even 1st stage alone offers a strong damage boost.
Thanks for the updates, I'll try the Sigil of Power option later.
Does anyone know if 'Increased Presence Area of Effect' (that I can see on some Omen Scepters) affects the radius of our Blasphemy curses?
Right now, my level 20 Temporal Chains (in Blasphemy) has a radius of 6.8m. I've got a lot of jewels with increase curse radius etc. Not sure how I can make the Temporal Chains get to affect a lot more of the screen.
No, it affects only "Presence" related skills. Apex of the Moment, Withering Presence, Overwhelming Presence, whatever else. Blasphemy and curses ain't on this list.
6.8m is good enough, no need to bother with it anymore.
