I am massively disappointed with how boring and lame most of these are.

???

Most of them are build defining.

Many do look rather... unexciting. And there is a clear mismatch between them.

Let me try to explain what I mean: Consider any node that only gives access to a unique skill. Sure, those are build-defining by definition. But look at the opportunity cost. Presumably, those skills can't be so busted that they overshadow anything else You can get in the game. So if You pick a skill node, it will always compete with different skill+stat node. That's a balancing nightmare right there.

Then there are things like the "+20 inventory slots" node. I mean, that is great quality of life, of course. But it's weird AF, because it's just that. How busted does Your build have to be that You can consider giving up 25% of Your precious ascendancy points purely for a QOL feature? AND it's a travel node to another unexciting one that just makes small passive nodes stronger. Now, that one looks like there's great power in that. But it's not particularly exciting. Same goes for the "15% more life" one. Or the "50% more armour from equipped body armour". Does that sound like a build-defining ascendancy node to You?

Plenty of them are like that. Gemling legionaire - the one I'll probably go for, actually - seems powerful, but is it exciting? +1 skill. +10 quality. More bonus from stats. Max Res. Half the tree is just flat stats that You could get from generic gear. Then there's stuff like Point Blank on Deadeye used to be nodes on the passive tree in PoE1.

Granted, we also have a lot of absolutely awesome stuff. And that's another problem in, for example, Acolyte of Chayula: Are You really excited for "bunch of chaos res" node when You have interesting stuff like Into the Breach and the whole Darkness part? You really gonna feel good picking "every 12 seconds, gain 50% cast speed for 4 seconds" or "slow nearby enemies by 20%", when there's stuff that resets Your cooldowns, timestops enemies, or gives You an Ekko ultimate?

That 20 inventory slots is for the next step that gives you 50% more effect of small passives. That next one will be important for anyone doing stacking builds like me.

I think because we don't know much about the items in the game and the passives on the skill tree we don't really know how these will work out. But it is easy to see how they can radically improve based on these ascendencies.

I'm in awe of people complaining about these ascendancies, especially the minion players. Minions were shown to need spirit to summon, no matter whether there was a Necro ascendancy or not, that doesn't change the fact that you'd need to spirit stack to summon more minions. we haven't seen the full skill tree, so my advice. get over yourselves, the ascendancies look amazing and encapsulate what they are trying to be very well from first glance. Excited to see the builds that come out of them.

It's really not that hard to understand why some people would be concerned about not having any minion ascendancys at all except for 1

Such a shame , Witch has no Minions Support or Damage states
WTFFF!!

That does seem weird. Maybe the third ascendancy will be a minion one?
I'm gonna burn myself to death so many times, holy sheet
Design is promising. Lots of diverse choices with lots of angles, but some seem, at a glance of course, way more powerfull than others. We will see.

And in regards of Minions...well....
The "we dont have a minion ascendancy" issnt really true at all it seems. Even the Witch looks to be one sided as the Blood Remnant from the Blood Mage Tree, a Node you have to take, is refering to enemies you kill. Wich usually means minion kills wont count wich makes this a tremndous downside of a node regarding minions (if the mechanic is still the same). Maybe after EA this will change but for now there issnt much real choice - just one, for now at least.

Sorceress Stormweaver!

Thinking of going strength stacking. Not sure if I want to go gemling legionaire(double inherent bonuses) or Titan 50% more effect of small notables.

I jsut hate having to pass through the increased inventory capacity node for that. That doesn't make me stronger at all and feels kind of like a waste to me which sucks
Some of the skills and ascendancies feel like going to Ruthless :(
GGG.

Chronomancer sucks. I also found out that time freeze and the other one, have atrociously long cooldowns. This is crap.

Also, pendulum buffs? This is utter crap. Nobody likes pendulum buffs.

You give storm weaver tons of damage AND free perma arcane surge (that can be scaled!!!!) and compare this with the 50% casting speed pendulum buff of Chronomancer.

Doesnt really seem fair does it?

Chronomancer has zero damage man, there are no big cooldown nuke spells.

AND all the CDR shit on the passive tree is literally on the opposite side of the passive tree from sorcerer.

Chronomancer SUCKS - Back to the drawing board please!

At the very LEAST! Reduce the cooldown of its iconic mechanics and increase the uptime of its only OFFENSIVE capability - the faster casting, seriously every 12 seconds for 4 seconds? Thats ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS!
