any build works in poe just have to know how to play it
Sure man, sure.
Can you please make a video, how you do shaper with 200k DPS build?
All those years I was thinking that I need to boost my damage to 2+ millions. Now when I see other people's point of view - maybe I was just not clicking the buttons right...
Thank you for sharing this.
if you dont know how to read descriptions to understand things how they work you wont understand a build guide on how it works, your not really learning anything.

I agree with you on this matter.
You should understand your skills interactions. You should know the situational gem swaps. You should know the core mechanics involved.
Game knowledge (to different degrees) is required.
What I do not agree, is that arbitrary builds can do well in this game.
As long as there are builds that are measured in "millions", builds that are measured in "hundreds" will never find a place.
It is that simple.

So many people are telling others "check this out, try that", "Hundreds of gems available", "There will be thousand of possible builds"...
No. Lies upon lies. Click baits.
The offense in this game relies on strong synergy from equipment and tree nodes. The damage is calculated in terms of millions. It is the result from chain of multiplication, cheesy conversions and focusing all investment on one thing.
The defense is organized on different layers, demanding heavy investment, often in multiple of them, to ensure character survival.
The game was, is, and always will be, balanced against top builds.
You will never be able to pick nodes on the go, and come up with something that works. Even if you are particularly good at math, prototyping requires tools, that allow you to check if the end-game numbers are actually alright.
So if you want to see something more than the campaign (And you should, because otherwise its 30 buck for 3 acts...), "experimenting" is absolutely not recommended.
Edit:
This is not attempt to coerce players to follow blindly other peoples builds, as some people have suggested multiple times. And some ask me how this affects me, why is this my problem.
I do NOT like bad builds. I do not like to struggle. I do not like to constantly respawn. If a build I have shows even slight hint, that it wont be doing decently... I DELETE IT. No matter if its my own, or someone elses. It is a torment.
And I think, that many players who play this game, and will play the game that comes do feel the same way.
They will want reliable, strong, fast, easy to play build. They will want to explore more. To do more. And nothing in the past years provides evidence, that creating your build on the go is viable way to complete endgame content.
So many of you say that enjoy picking nodes on the go, and plan to do it on EA. I absolutely respect your choice. I support your choice. I just want to share my thoughts on this matter.
maybe just learn how to play/make builds

Playing builds I can.
Making builds I can not.
But when I see your "Viper Strike of the Mamba" character,
I am absolutely certain that this applies to you as well.

We have 'skeletons' of builds already. Archetypes that we know will work. I think people are overstating how much combos will be needed, it's probably going to be mostly 2 skills for clear and 3 to 4 for bossing max, but we'll see soon enough.
Damn, you are going skellies and you do not want to share :)
I knew it...

I think, you will lose SO much if you don't want to play with character customization, especially in PoE 2 where it is very easy and should be awesome. Ofc, if you are enjoying to play without any experiments and struggles, play the way which suits you, just don't try to convince people that it's the only way to play. Noone will believe you anyway :)
