apparently PoE 2 gonna be even more of logout meta

"
Wait you can really press ESC and the game pauses?
And if you think u'll prob die u just ESC -> teleport to waypoint", and that's it??

I wanted harder HC not easier HC bro wtf is this

yep thats exactly what you can do now whenever you gonna do bossing you will know you wont ever die no adrenaline no nothing
How they ever thought that it would be a good idea to do it like this bro lol
It's still an improvement in a way isn't it? Cause Boss health is back at 100% and you can't just continue at any% like it currently is in poe1

It's still lame, true, can and should also abuse this for softcore not just for not losing XP but also not losing your one and only portal/attempts on the boss, so not really just a HC thing

Exactly.

Essentially,
POE1 = Has logout macro with no penalty
POE2 = Has logout macro with a penalty (boss HP resets)

Saying it is worse than the current POE1 is just wrong, in no way does the new system make it easier to do than it has been for the entirety of POE1, if I knew I was going to die before I always had the option of logging out. Nothing has changed in that regard.

Even if there was no option to return to the last checkpoint, I could wait 15 minutes for the instance to reset, and it would be the same.

Johnathan explains in the interview that they want to avoid encouraging HC players to 'wait 15 minutes' while their instance resets before they can play the game again.

it is much worse becuz in poe 2 bosses have far more telegraphed attacks its much easier to not die to them becuz you can simply click escape and game is paused you will never die to bosses unlike in PoE the game also pauses in PoE 2 if you get latency spikes so you wont ever die to d/c aswell or packet loss

Thats very subjective. You are biased because you have only seen content from the campaign bosses. You need to play the game to make that kind of judgement. The bosses with highly telegraphed attacks are in Sanctum. All campaign bosses also have updated AI and additional attacks or increased AOE for endgame (which we have rarely seen).

I don't think you can definitively say POE2 is easier than POE1 without playing the game.

the game is much harder than poe 1 i never said it isnt i only said the boss fights are much easier becuz of logout chooese
It's simple, really. Don't use it. If you are gonna chicken out at every mistake because you are scared of losing progress, then maybe you missed the point of HC and it isn't actually for you. Same thing with people cheating Honor Mode in BG3, yet still wanting to brag about earning their golden dice.

jonathan just confirmed in the interview with ziz that you can at any time simply click escape and it pauses the game and you just click "teleport to last checkpoint" and you are out this literally defeats the entire purpose of hc playing if you are ever about to die to a boss you simply can leave the fight crazy that GGG actually thought this is good mechanic? whats the point from playing hc if you know you will NEVER die to boss

Im pretty sure that wont work in endgame.

What I understood is if you logout, you go back just at ther SAME EXACT PLACE AND MOMENT you were, so no escape. Its real hardcore this time.

Maybe the checkpoint thing is only during a campaign?

Anyway, what I heard is that you go to the checkpoints IF you die when you resurrect, not when you logout.

EDOT: oghh I sdee now its from a new interview from today. Im really demoralized now, it destroys my fun to play hardcore I guess :/
