What do you guys think about loot filters?

For years now I've used a filter I customized that replaced all drop sounds with various calls from "Bunger" from the game Bugsnax, and I'm going to be really sad to not have it right away in poe2.

For better or worse I still make my own loot filters (I was never happy with Neversink's departure from the in-game color scheme and insistence to differentiate between every single item detail with endless variants in drop icons/colors/sounds). I think having generic customizable filter like GD or LE seems like a good option although keeping the more custom version in addition would be nice.

i also make my own, but i use Filterblade for the UI in writing blocks- its very helpful in creating tiers for rare items, and you can just click on bases you want to move depending on your progress. but recently they removed the option to save your filter state to a file, beside the one in cache, which is a shit move forcing you to link your poe account to the site.
I would rather have 1000 loot filters to choose from rather than 0.

Look, in Last Epoch, which has great built in loot filter, I personally don't even care about it and I always just import one. I believe this is not as important and whether you have to import one from the website or select in-game, has almost zero real impact on the game. What is important is the fact you can filter your loot in some way.

D4 bad.

I know some players can't seem to play arpgs without one, but for me it's no big deal. I'm in no rush when I'm playing so I don't mind checking what drops.

I love loot filters. Both in PoE and other games like Last Epoch, project diablo2 etc.

I find filters to be the IDEAL future of loot management. Being able to set my own sounds, colors and cues is a MASSSSSSSIIIVEEEEEEEEEEEEE positive.

I dont find them overwhelming at all with some very minor common sense. If you do, literally just use the simple neversink filter.

I think they play a massive role to bridge the gap between the loot in the game catering to day 1 players who need/want to pick up even just simple white items to vendor for wisdom scrolls and players on day 30 who only care to see certain things while farming super advanced erdgame fast where even reduced loot drops would easily clutter any screen.

Just to clarify: I dont find lootfilters owerwhelming, I never said this. But I don't enjoy spending my time on writing loot filters, which I think at some point would become necessary if you want to be effective.
I also used Neversinks filters, like most people did. The filters are overall pretty good, but they miss on important build-specific items usually that you also want to get.

I think Loot filters are great.

However, PoE 2 missed how great it felt in Last Epoch the first time you played it and items drop identified. My first initial reaction was every game should do this. It would make the loot filter work much better IMO rather than having to fill up your inventory and ID items just to vendor. It literally will be billions of clicks in the next ten years if they don't change it.

Just drop the item Identified for us. It just makes sense.

I don't really consider it a loot filter at this point its going to be more like a currency / show all uniques. And some of the bases you might be chasing to craft on.

For a very long time Einhar Memories did not show up on your mini map using Filterblade if they were out of range like a chaos orb. With a little tweaking you could make it show up like a divine and Bam you are finding them all over the place. True Story.

A loot filter that can filter ALL loot would be amazing.

We can all have dreams. Be kind !

I think if we "NEED" loot filters then they messed up.
