If you agree or disagree feel free to take the 20seconds to post +1 or why you disagree Just bare in mind my only objection is to this in softcore without option (like hardcore or ssf), fine for it to be a chosen game mode. Last edited by Timbo Zero#8289 on Nov 24, 2024, 7:39:20 AM

" They are third-party screen recording software. Nothing that needs approval, because they don't interact with the game. OBS is pretty advanced these days, with a lot of features, especially with RTX cards, and it's free. No need for a green screen or foam panels, RTX can take care of that. PC is just the better tool overall, no contest. For the record, I used to be a console player myself, back in the day. Switched to PC in 2012. Streaming PC: Win 11, i5-12400, RTX 3060, 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36, 7300 MB/s SSD, 1920x1080p 60Hz |

" Thank you for the confirmation/clarification. Back in 2012 I was close to the same (even spent some time on PC around then but my lack of stash tabs sent me back to console), XBox Series X saved me from the expense of a good gaming PC but I recognise what you’re saying. The following isn’t aimed at you just here seemed a good place to put it…. I am not normally a throw fuel on the fire sort of guy but… In the show we saw our atlas start point with 6-7 maps around it. This ‘one and done’ portal policy with a new game and us learning etc etc I can easily see some (many, even potentially elite players) failing all 6-7 of those and that’s 50 (estimated by what was said on show) hours gone and your session is burnt to standard league. Hardcore players know what they’re getting into (I don’t play it cos a loss like that would literally put me on the end of a rope). SSF is an option and you can bail out to softcore at any time, this ‘one and done’ should be the same an option, or part of ‘medium-core’. This currently the 3rd most viewed PoE2 thread started since GGG Live, clearly players are interested in it (whether they support it or not I cannot say) Last edited by Timbo Zero#8289 on Nov 24, 2024, 9:31:38 AM

I'm a mostly hc player and i think this is a horrible idea. I absolutely hate this in Last Epoch.

In the Trials reveal they had a item that you could buy from the Gin that could resurrect you once during your trial run and give you full Honor. Maybe there are more items "like" that for end game activities , I really wish Mark Roberts would talk alot more about group play and end game. I feel like this is gonna be a huge topic and will probly get some kind of change during EA testing period.

" Thanks for the input. As a console man (old old man) I hope I am around to see LE on console. |

" I am aware, but highly doubt there is a mapping equivalent. Keeping secrets is kinda GGGs thing (and by extension Marks as well) and I am fine with it, more so for a new game. I doubt this thread will have enough impact to change EA launch, and I hope after launch more noise is made here and on Reddit etc to effect a change but we’ll see I guess. There is reason why people play sc instead of hc. And this is like playing hc in sc. Really, really terrible idea. I really hope it will be changed during the EA.

" I think many are waiting to play the game in EA before providing feedback on this, while it sounds bad it might be fine. |

I see a really huge flaw in this design. You can't learn anything.
For example, you find one boss and try the map. Boss killed you, because you didn't know how it works, as they have different AI and attacks than their campaign versions. So... You bricked the map, and can't do it again. Then you will have to maybe play for hour or maybe even few hours to find the same boss again (I can imagine that with 50+ different bosses). And then you will again have just 1 attempt to learn anything, but it was long time since you fought that specific boss. Imagine playing something like Elden Ring and trying to learn how the boss works, but you have to do something else for an hour between each death. And also it will force players to use OP mata builds even if they might not enjoy playing them, as maybe some more fun to play builds could be not viable, because of being too weak. Let us have 6 attempts, but maybe remove loot from mobs after you die. So you still have opportunity to learn, as that's really important in a game like that. When they said they made content harder than before. |
