Can you brick your atlas in PoE2 by dying too frequently in maps?

That was my first thought.
Im sure GGG has thought of this and has a way to prevent it and if not it is EA they will fix it.

For those "not playing" POE2 for this or other reasons - SERIOUSLY??

Its early access - things will change before 1.0 and if you are not part of the collective voice helping GGG understand what is good and what is bad then please DO NOT complain when 1.0 has features you don't agree with. Does this mean GGG will change POE2 into YOUR or MY "perfect" game NO but we as a community have a voice and GGG does listen. POE 1 has features that are not popular with different players for different reason BUT we still love the game as a whole! Bottomline there is no such thing as a game that EVERYONE loves EVERY aspect of. I'm playing with an open mind - understanding this IS NOT POE1 - not sure about several game features but I'm willing to try it their way before completely discounting the whole game

Yeah, I'm a bit short for the free key for the early access, and the idea of running maps in a pseudo-hardcore setup really doesn't sit well with me... I'll still likely buy it, but it's not the auto-buy I expected it to be and this is the main reason, the secondary being the infinite nature of the atlas (I really liked that atlas exploration had an end as I just don't like infinite systems overall).

I mean, I'm perfectly fine with the game not being for me, as there are millions of other games that aren't for me and thus I don't play as the result.

Someone should test it by dying in all the nodes around the starting area.
If it bricks it and you can't play anymore that's a huge problem already.
Aside from doing Sanctum to get ascension points.
Which is extremely stupid since you have to avoid getting hit and lose...

You can get hit tons of times in sanctum and still make it. Just dont face-tank everything and ignore whats happening on the screen....

what if your build relies on getting hit? this is by far the weirdest decision imo so i understand the concern. also not a fan of semi HC atlas progression.
No one is bothered that they don't call it "Maps" anymore?
Waystones doesn't feel as smooth to say...
ggg has never showcased ultra endgame juiced game play ever, even videos of poe1 are snail slow lmao. Everything stated is wrong in that concern. Anyways if you just wanted poe1 with better graphical engine, that's going to happen in the near future, 2-3 years probably, if they migrate the current engine to the one of poe2, bricking maps-bosses sound like a great idea so people stop making mindless glass cannon builds.

Bosses regening to full life - Okay I agree if you can't kill a boss you should not be able to whittle it down one HP at a time while continuously dying. I do not think it feels realistic (Kinda funny being a game and all ) for a boss you are fighting to have miraculous healing powers ... But only when no one is looking ... It just makes no sense. :D - I think there needs to be some compromise here.

You know what else is unrealistic? the player character dying and reviving constantly corpse rushing the boss to death. But this isn't a realistic game, this is a challenging game. For campaign bosses no matter what dogass build you concoct it will be possible to beat a lot of these bosses relatively easily as the meta breaks out. The compromise for people who struggle with their build is just to use whatever breakout easy skills can win it for them that will surface. the rest of us will enjoy the struggle with whatever we try, which is the point of a game.

Differences between challenging and punishing. I think challenge to a degree is fine. But nothing should stonewall from progress. In particular because "Challenge" is a very subjective term, what is challenging for you may be easy for the next person, what is easy for you may be challenging for another. The metric of challenge is not defined. What is defined is how many people quit a game if they reach a point of being stonewalled.
Since so much information was being thrown in the reveal I kinda missed this one. I dont even think it was reiterated in the QnA except that you can TP out of the map to regear or something.

This seems like a total turnoff in all honesty. Losing the map if I die once is so cringe if im playing softcore. If im playing SC let me PLAY softcore. As has been mentioned in the thread already - we know how rippy GGG likes to be with monsters so getting one-shot is not fun.

I guess its just going to be a just try it scenario but from the sounds of it... big nope.
