Where's Chris???
Chris is great but this has always been Jonathan's game. It makes sense for Jonathan to be the face.

" i'm not one of those people. but i remember when the whole divine/exalt orb switch happened, chris's response was in absolute glee telling us how we should have just diversified our investments. if theres any one time in POE's history that i feel i should get fucking pissed off at is this one particular time. was i pissed with GGG's insistence on adding in AN? yes but i could reason that it was to simplify the monster mods. execution was horrible. but theres some good intent behind it. was i pissed with GGG splitting POE1 and 2? fuck yes i was pissed. it was a broken promise. but with john/ggg revealing to players that they were forced to do it in order to fix melee i kinda understood. if ggg led up with this before the last exilecon i think i still would have been disappointed but i would understand and accept rather than just being outraged. the intention still is to give players a better experience. one can say that exalt/divine switch was good for the game. you know what? i CAN agree to it. but the problem is the way chris responded had ZERO TACT. there was ZERO CARE. and it really showed "its not my problem". while players on STD had a huge lot of their investment crash. fucking hell. there definitely are arguments for chris. "hes not wrong" and "its a video game, you shouldnt get too invested". to which i would say, if i m not invested i wont play nor spend any money on the game. as for hes not wrong. if you're talking IRL investments thats true. you should never put all your eggs in one basket. theres conspiracy theories that markets are controlled by certain people, while other analysis would reveal that the market is based on trends. but in POE's case. this switch was a direct market manipulation done by GGG. and yeah some people will also say "oh why so butthurt, some other currencies also raise in value, its all a gamble". having something taken away always hurts to those that value the item. if you were poor had a handful of exalts but had a huge number of divines lying around of course you would be ecstatic. but on the flipside some players had hundreds or thousands of exalts that practically lost 90% of its value. players who are PASSIONATE about the game, who spent tons of time playing. in fact i would say STD players are the most passionate among the entire POE playerbase. they play regardless of whether or not there is any fancy gimick or even a fancy challenge reward. they play the game for the longest time and just for chris to say something so non chalantly. damn man chris. i would have respected you a great deal more had you not made that "joke". " that is just sad. similar thing happened around MtG and resulted in the entire franchise being controlled by the corp. sad times, i hope Chris and Bex are doing ok. regarding the ex/div switch- how can devs balance the game around in-game economics of league that is literally the dumpster of the game? some people should be evaluated before they get internet access |

I know this is mostly memes/jokes. Maybe this is just the internet enfeebling your mind. Maybe you're too scared to show some vulnerability. I too despair at Chris's absence. For this (one) singular game could not exist without him and therefore the echo could not as well.
Nameless seer or not I hope he's doing well and as a player with the unnatural energy I've spent in this game, I want him and everyone at GGG to know that I adore this game. I may have given some punishment to Chris in the past, but we would be here without him. Not to discount the rest of you at GGG. I know Johnathan, and Mark were able to display their pride today(yesterday) but I do know there are faces in the dark, by choice, or obscured, that made POE. Thanks to you ALL present , absent, and/or forgotten. I hope to see your maw leaving an impact in the reverberations to echo. I look fondly back to the Fall of Oriath trailer, which nearly sparked tears, I hope you shatter expectations with this timeless jewel. I tower with anticipation, I'll_UBER_YOUR_LAB |

" i agree. else we have people making remarks like yours. i m no game dev but you dont need a game dev to make very surface level analysis To give a rundown for whatever the REASON the switch needed to happen no longer is important, heres what is important who are affected by this change. realistically? to be honest only ONE group of people. which are those on Standard. if you're playing on a new temp league every few months the div/exalt switch has ZERO affect on you currency wise. what do they lose from this switch? multitudes of value. is there anything GGG can do without affecting the temp league? YES. just give us a limited time standard only npc or vendor recipe which allows us to switch between divs and exalts. problem solved. if you think GGG could not have come up with such a solution you really are looking down on GGG's capabilities as game designers. ggg could have done it but chose NOT to do it. to add salt to injury we have people like you who simply berate people who were upset they lost a lot of their hard work and effort in a poof. lol ex-div npc? whats next legacy kaom chest div buy back option? if you had ALL of your wealth on STD in ex then its on you. I imagine legacy items are world more valuable than any ex sitting in your stash. doing the exchange this time will set a precedence for a plethora of headaches for them. because every single patch hits your items like you wouldn't believe- maybe you hibernated in STD for long enough not to realize what impact patches have on builds and therefore entire item sets that people spend months on perfecting. the fact people didn't just rage on reddit about it for few weeks but went as far as with the MtG fiasco shows a very disturbing pattern. reflect on that or not, like i care

Gone, thankfully.
Now the game can progress in meaningful ways. Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |

I was never able to understand what change made Exalts lose their value, I was not there for the switch. Could you explain it to me?
