maybe we should all change our names to spartacus

OMFG, that would be too funny.

BTW, in case anyone's interested, you can change your account name for free by just emailing Support, and changing your name does change your number. I went from #0951 to #1810, which oddly looks better to me? I don't know why.
The artist formerly known as Waitubold. Taking the Lord's name in vain since birth, basically.

Wonder what happens if multiple people kept asking support multiple times to change their number.
Honestly, not a fan, but not a biggie either. But, why?

you have the best number here...i want it

My number would indeed fit to your name and forum avatar :D
hate it, the uniqueness of old account names is gone.

also, it's just done to unite joystick realms with the pc realm which we should have fought harder when they were just like: "we support joysticks in the future, this isn't causing much development effort, it's just 2 guys doing it beside their regular work for fun".

All good things come to an end.

After Dragon Age Origins (pc game), Bioware started to cater to consoles.
After F.E.A.R. 1 (pc game), Monolith started to cater to consoles.
After Crysis 1 (pc game), Crytek started to cater to consoles.

There is money to be made on consoles which means any dev will spend resources on it sooner or later and the game mechanics will be designed around them.

funny, played all those games but exactly the versions you mentioned.
to be honest, since i started poe i never really got comfortable with another game.

i'm probably in that age where you wish you can rollback time but the time of real games is probably gone. it's all commercial stuff and entertainment shit to be played comfortably from your sofa now.

like in so many things in society they call it "advancement" while in reality they're moving backwards, ggg were some of the few to think about changes before they applied mechanics, they had balls to move into different directions than the majority of companies if it made sense. and eventually won.

age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
I have seen a bunch of people post about the number potentially being hidden at some point and I think that would be absolutely terrible. Because then people could change their name to impersonate someone else with greater notoriety (since names were unique for over a decade) and potentially interfere with the original owners reputation lively hood (in the case of content creators) and many other things.

I think they should have assigned numbers based on chronological creation then at least you would know when you saw #0001 you were talking to the original owner of that name....

This is just not good for a platform that had unique names for over a decade.
