I quite like mine. Starting with a 0 feels somewhat distinguished. It has me feeling rather mannerly.

So I was about to agree that the numbers should be sequential for the same name. Buuuuut, then I thought about the player that really likes some name but because he wasn't there first, and it's known to everyone that it's sequential, he'll always know he's the lesser of the name he likes.
Honestly, the random number covers the most bases and is probably the best choice. |
