PoE Killer Launching today bois

Apples to oranges, as they say.

The only true cinematic in DIV is its climax, and it is fucking amazing. A ten minute plus payoff for a lot of narrative build up and establishment. I can watch that sequence over and over. The rest of the cut scenes are in engine and...get you there. The true Blizzard level prerendered cut scene of DIV is meaningful, epic, and intimate. It's everything D3 wasn't. But you can't know this unless you actually play the game leading up to it and pay attention to the dialogue. Which just makes sense to me: people who skip to the end of a book and expect any sort of pay off are victims of the modern idea that the pay off doesn't require work. Which is ludicrous. As spectacle-driven as the MCU might be, there's no way someone skipping straight to Endgame is going to feel the beats the way someone who has warched em all since Iron Man will. No fucking way. So sure. You can just go watch the end cinematic of DIV on youtube. But please don't. Earn your experience of it.

But the opening to Diablo? Timeless. Tech limitations and all.

So I disagree with your assumption there, old friend. Blizzard can be faulted for many things, but top tier cinematics isn't one of them. And where D3 had pretty cut scenes utterly let down by insipid, puerile writing, DIV has at least competent writing that lends its blockbuster moment credibility and emotional heft.

---

Imagine giving a shit about user scores/reviews of mainstream shit in 2024, where virtually everything popular is just another front for the smoothbrained culture war. Point and laugh at the bots but ffs don't actually stoop to crediting them with critical engagement.

Is there anyway to ask Blizzard to refund my $120 wasted on D4?

The cinematics and cut scenes are very realistic, top tier graphics.

My comment wasn't about the graphics quality. Or course a small company in 1996 couldn't deliver what a multi million company can deliver now.

Charan got what I meant, of course.
And yes, I made my comment without actually watching the cinematics or playing the game. I just extrapolated from D3, which obviously was a mistake.

Your enjoyment of video games must never be dictated by other players, reviewers and streamers.

You go play and enjoy what you enjoy even if its a 1/10 game (according to critics) ;)

I've played and enjoyed games that got horrible user/reviewer scores.

Project IGI is my all time best shooter (lol). Miles better than half-life or doom (imo ;)).

More recently I played that terminator shooter game and thought it was absolutely top tier. Later read the review on Eurogamer and the reviewer gave it an 'Avoid' rating because he didn't like a couple of optional cutscenes.

Probably because there is max 5 mobs on the screen.

Nope, same issue when standing in any of the campaign towns by myself or a few people around. If any of those people have forced sparkly MTX shoved in my face, the video card turns into a jet engine.

Never had my video card turn into a jet engine when playing D3, and its colorful design meant I could immediately decipher (less than second) everything that is happening on my screen at any moment in time, even in the darkest cave/dungeon/whatever tileset.

The POE engine demands so much and in exchange offers...nothing.

Do you guys think that POE graphically design is aesthetically pleasing? ok, because it is literally the opposite for gameplay in a genre where important split-second decisions on visual cues are routinely the norm.

It even seems deliberate in the latest T17 bosses.

"Ok we'll make a dark black/grey/brown colored boss"
"Ok we'll put it in an indoor tileset with black/grey/brown environment"
"Ok we'll give it lethal abilities/projectiles/effects that blend into the environment"

Is this supposed to be a "challenge", no it's dumb, incredibly horribly dumb

I'm not trying to argue that PoEs graphics are top notch and up to the 2024 standard, that what PoE2 is for, but comparing it to D3? Really?

I think I can speak for alot of PoE players that we'll take PoEs engine and graphics over D3 any day of the week. One of the reasons why PoE had such success is because of D3 and in part it's incredibly stupid art style.

The PoE engine is old and dated and my PC turns into a jet on some loading screens aswell, but that's just the CPU cooling for like 2 seconds. Other than that I don't have noise issues in PoE.

I don't know what's going to happen in PoE2, but I assume if u're having problems now, it will get worse then. So maybe think about upgrading ur PC or another game.

Having actually played D3 for a bit again recently, I can safely say they are not even close.

If PoE 2 has no CWDT builds, I will quit for good.

D3 was designed to run on a potato from 2008.

Meanwhile D4 has a ton of optimization problems as well - major server/rubberbanding issues and memory leaks up the wazoo that have hard crashed my pc multiple times. As to visual clarity: I present helltides and no item filters in 2024.

Don't waste your time with them and make use of PayPal or your bank to have them get the refund rolling.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
