People unable to play for few hours of the lifetime of a game leaving a shitty Steam review, hold the front page!

Nope.

Just another day poe is the king.
At least the POE killer has an optimized engine that doesn't require year 2030 computer hardware to run year 2010-2012 graphics above 5 FPS.

Said POE killer also has a graphical/color design in which I an actually decipher what is happening on my screen instead of a pixelated blob of brown/black/grey/green/etc.

Probably because there is max 5 mobs on the screen.
On Probation Any%
Last time I played it, at the start of Season 5, it was improving. Then I heard they were turning it into Diablo 3......I know the Diablo 4 devs are clueless, but come on...at least try to be original.

For me, the biggest downside I see in D4 is the skill trees and the lack of build diversity. You can argue all you want that even POE suffers from this, because only a few builds are considered good; but at least you have options, even if they are inferior. D4 has like 3 builds per class and that's the max. The Paragon board has to be the dullest thing I've seen in an ARPG. If they ever wake up and fix this, I might play again. As of right now, I have played enough of that mid game, enough to at least lie to myself that the money I paid were justified.

I pretty much agree on that. I came back to D4 in Season4 and really saw an improvement with the new itemisation and had some fun bossing. The problem is, that D4 offers no replayability for me at least. When I've done everything on one char I don't want to do it again on another build/character.

Now with the expansion, like u said, I feel like the devs finally gave up and turn the game into a monetized version of D3. Maybe it's for the best, but it's definitely not for me, so I'll just forget D4 exists. PoE imo is in such a good state right now and with the arrival of PoE2 EA I've enough ARPG content anyway.

Do they even want to? The devs probably never intent to make the game for the folks who spent 10 times the hours playing more than a normal person.

Despite all the haters, there is lots of people playing it. There is a huge contrast between these two things.

U r definitely right that D4 has a different target audience, but before D4 launched they repeatedly said that they were "going back to the roots of D2". Whatever that meant, to me it suggested a change from the D3 formula.

I think now they have changed course. Maybe because they think they r kinda stuck between older mechanics of D2 and newer stuff that doesn't work well together.
I also think they failed to retain the D2 and PoE crowd (which, even if not the specific target audience, they surely tried to catch aswell), so now they lean completely into the other side of the spectrum to give D3 fans what they wanted out of the game in the first place.

As I said, it is probably for the best and alot of people will be happy with this direction. Maybe D4 can become a decent game after all. It just signalizes to me, that they have given up on "us", which is fine.

100% bullshit, and even as hyperbole, misleading. The game handles large groups far better than PoE ever did. Because, yep, they're a lot simpler. Which is fine -- no one's oohing or ahhing over well-animated enemies made to be slaughtered en masse.

https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
