Such a "I was there..." moment.

I do remember it as well, like it was yesterday, reading their post on the main purpose of leagues.

Damn you, old man.

Isn't this a huge contradiction?

You DO care who else has it, because you want it with moderate investment "too".

Question: Lets say GGG fucked up and made the boss in the Fetid Pool drop a Mageblood every time. Do you actually think that GGG should just leave it as is so that everyone could abuse the mechanic, removing 99% of the progression for ALL players - in a game about progression? Telling everyone that "abusing is OK"?

Anyhow, I disagree. GGG should always work towards "no abusive mechanics" and fixing them when it happens; not "abusive mechanics for everyone".

On a side note: I also think it's perfectly fine that the game has some items that 99% of players can't get. I played Diablo 2 (self found) for 10+ years and I never got the whole Tal Rasha's Wrappings set. Totally OK with that.

Absolutely wrong and out of logic statement

I want MB with MODERATE investment and not because someone has it

Now you got it or not yet?

What about Fetid pool boss - after I'll get MB, I wont give a single F who else would get it too, even if EVERY monster would start dropping MB and HH with 100% chance

And nothing should be changed in the temp leagues until their end
Except gamebreaking bugs ofc: not being able to complete quests, crashes etc
Auctioneer House - is a MUST!

The problem with this is that a subset, usually the sweatiest / streamers benefit from the bug or exploit. As soon as the bug / exploit gets commoditized (others benefit), GGG feels the pressure to fix it before it "gets out of control". So the masses in trade leagues get screwed economically. TBH anyone not paying attention to #streamerexploits pays for it. Accept that trade IS PvP!

Anyways, I don't disagree with GGGs solution to nerf it as fast as they can after hearing about it. I think the bigger problem has been the significant increase in exploits in recent leagues. They are "moving fast, and breaking things" (as they like to say in the valley), and this has both benefits (features) and costs (bugs).

I really wish they would balance around SSF instead of trade. Trade is such a balance crap-show these days anyways.

P.S. I think it would be awesome if MB was a guarantee drop in Fetid Pool. Not because I want easy game, but because I no longer enjoy non-MB gameplay lol (flask piano? no thanks!). MB ruins you. Just turn flasks into gear slots that don't have to be pushed and remove MB!

If a strat/mechanic is unintentionally OP it SHOULD get nerfed

I don't think anyone disagrees with that. But if you obliterate the mechanic to this degree, where it's not even really interacted with, then what is the point to begin with?

I know GGG feels like they had to save the economy from abuse, but if the cost was people abandon the league or the mechanic completely... well that's a classic case of the baby going out with the bath water.

So you want it with "MODERATE" investment, but you would run straight to Fetid Pool if it dropped there?

I get it, you don't "give a single F who else would get it too", as long as YOU get it. But if 0,1% of players would get it (due to an exploit) and you wouldn't, it's "ffs". It seems to me you don't give a "single F" about balance or the game as a whole as long as you get what you want - with or without "MODERATE investment".

Lastly: What is actually "MODERATE investment". You sort of wrote it in caps as if I should know what you, subjectively, define as "MODERATE".

Yes, that is the problem. But I see it as a smaller problem than all of the alternatives. The "sweatiest" people are 500 steps ahead of the majority anyhow (me included), I don't really see the problem in them being 1000 steps ahead. I can farm my way to what I want in most leagues and I have fun while doing so. You clearly don't, and don't like non-Mageblood gameplay. It's kind of sad that you can't enjoy this big ass game without that one unique item.

That is a completely different issue, which I agree with 100%. And yes, GGG have a history of over-nerfing things into the ground, which is sad. As I said; I want balance, not destruction.

I want it with moderate investment, because current investments is insane - especially time invenstments

Your example with fetid boss is not connected to mine anyhow - it is your example, not mine. How did you combined them?

But, if assume it is real case, then I would go and get it there, of course

Ffs is about they are changing game mechs in the middle of the road!

It's becoming obvious: No matter how severe an abuse is, you do not want GGG to fix/improve it so that everyone gets the chance to abuse it. I disagree, and think - in some cases - an abuse is so severe that it's best for the league - and the progression of players - that the abuse is dealt with ASAP.

We disagree. It's allowed.

+1 on this. The overall health of the game is more important than SilverWF getting free Magebloods. Gotta work for it, buddy!

Why others got away with their abuses then and not been even banned for the league?

How THIS improves the health of the game?
