mac m1, performance issues and error with updating and login
A fix is coming....
Sammy Hagar sings it the best reply on Day 8: Little White Lie's Been Around For Years Little White Lie's Ringing In Your Ears Turn Around Come Around Back On You Well That Little White Lie's Catching Up To You Little White Lie Say What You Got To Little White Lie Come Back To Haunt You Little White Lie You Got One You Got Two |

" that would be very nice |

I can't really tell if that prediction was sarcasm, given the lyrics that were quoted. It's still broken for now.

" For those of you who have been able to get into the game, I posted a workaround in another thread to bypass it in the future. The login issue appears when you exit or logout of the game using the game menu. To bypass it when your finished playing press CMD+OPT+ESC to bring up Force Quit and force quit the game client. If you force quit the game client the next time you open it you wont run into the login issues and should get in on your first attempt. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3533487/page/5 Last edited by Kaldrax#7104 on Aug 4, 2024, 3:34:03 PM

In a myriad of attempts I only made it past character selection once, and only long enough to stand up on the beach before crashing again. I'm also receiving the "failed to connect to instance" and "unable to connect to login server" messages despite toggling every graphic, language, and server setting. Kaldrax's work around seems to work for a few users so that might be your best bet. Didn't pan out for me though.

this whole problem seems super random, so here is my very scientific method of how i am logging in.
1. start game, login, select char, fail to load, close game 2. go to "Library > Application Support > path of exile > Preferences and delete the file " production_Config.ini " 3. start game, login, select char, ... it works the file will be re-created on launch, so you have to delete it again next time. also, it will reset all you options in the menue, so you will have to set them again. but at least i can reliably start the game now. performance is still shit tho |

" Deleting production_Config.ini before startup did nothing helpful for me. I could see that my settings were reset since the login screen was much smaller than usual, and background music was (re-)enabled, but after login I got the exact same failures and crashes as before. Edit: I managed to get in by removing production_Config.ini, then logging in as quickly as possible after startup by spamming the Enter key. It seems that the longer one waits, the more likely whatever is causing the corruption will make it impossible to login. Last edited by Tunzophun#4814 on Aug 4, 2024, 6:10:39 PM
