Unkillable mobs suck.. get rid of them
Wait until you go in the Delve and come across some mob with Soul Eater + Gains Endurance Charges When Hit...

after blocking ritual. i was casually blasting.
saw a tree to mark. triggered the event. monsters started pouring out. i was busy with one mob that took longer than required but my skill was killing other trash mobs on the side. i did realize a line pulsing whenever mobs died. oh dear. ended up being sent back to hideout. i cursed at the mob that had soul eater. cursed the tree and avoided the encounter. ggg KPI make memorable encounter = tick achieved! piss players off. also achieved! ticks. i encountered a few "immortal" rares. i just dash away a couple times and ignore them.
i assumed its because im "zdps" righteous fire without frost bomb or something. | |
I honestly think Soul Eater is way more cancerous. As a minion player it gets full stacks almost instantly so if you get SE with say, life leech and hasted, you get an immortal ball of wtf you can't even run away from.
That one affix honestly ruins entire mechanics all on its own. General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.

Worse than immortal mobs is being frozen and killed HK having 7k hp 80all res 80blok 100% suppress, having 100% elemental vaid, brine king and a shield that says canot be frozen, still being frozen and killed :/
POE is no longer an RPG, it's an action game similar to a dokem gong, you kill everything instantly or are killed instantly, the status doesn't matter anymore |

" i would argue this already happened back when maven was introduced. before maven boss mobs had counterplay where you could use your skill to clear em. maven was a huge dps check. you had to clear all monsters asap. take too long, she could heal em up to full health or have more bosses appear. shortly after maven came AN. that said i think soul eater is a very old mod, could have existed even longer than that. " If you have a mod with "Cannot be frozen" then you can literaly not be frozen. You have probably no stun immunity so getting stunned from all the blocked hits. | |
So far I have encountered about six sets of unkillable mobs. The worst offenders seem to come from Verisium deposits where when I set it to max it puts out bosses that I can't kill and can easily one shot me, usually more than one of them. The next is Expedition, where its not even the rares that are the problem but the magic ones that support them which have either monstrous energy shield or huge defense and life regen.
Admittedly I should pay more attention to the mods they are given from the chests, cause I might be unintentionally amping them to be unkillable from that and then I don't know why they are unkillable cause I didn't read the chest mods and then when I'm fighting them those mods are not listed so it gets confusing. Then in delve, yes the soul eater mod on a rare is potentially bad but usually its only bad if its paired with a defensive mod that makes it take a long time to kill. I don't remember exactly what mods they had but in one delve I encountered a soul eater on the way to the destination, I couldn't kill it, it got full charged, and then at the destination another unkillable rare joined, which had nasty mods like flash removal and endurance charges or something, anyways that delve was screwed. and yes I do use mark and hex stuff but it makes little to no difference. Sometimes when I use poachers mark the rare mob just insta clears it and I'm not sure why. There was also the time that a rogue exile spawned from a strongbox and it was the one that used a fire link totem and flameblast. I could do nothing to him because everything he did insta killed me and he moved and acted insanely fast so even if I focused on dodging/kiting I couldn't do it cause the flamebast was sooo fast and it 1 shot me consistently. |

" Yes indeed, a fact I keep bringing up, that AN did very little to affect the pool of affixes people complain about the most, and wasn't the problem, it just made the problem have a name, so it gets blamed. Soul eater was added in Nemesis (not Archnemesis), which is PoE 1.0. It's been a part of the game since release, and has been a problem since then. Though back in the league it spawned in was Hardcore Only, so it was a double middle finger back then. For some reference points, this makes Soul Eater as old as Shrines, Two Stone Rings and Headhunter. |

I learned not to bother with expedition because it wastes FAR too much time reading boxes and putting down circles). " Haste is cancer. Soul Eater + haste is insanity. Those two should NEVER be paired. Period. I can barely manage them this league because I am able to freeze them relatively consistently but if I wasn't doing a freeze or perma-stun build they'd be "port out and close map" mods. Haste and pretty much anything, especially soul eater, particularly the mobs that run away and throw ice walls all over the place. Those mobs are already fast, but when they get haste and/or soul eater they become impossible to catch or run away from. Even with nodes that reduce regen of nearby mobs, or mobs that have been hit, have 50+ or more less regen the mobs seem to recover their HP stupidly fast. Patch Notes 3.15: Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15.
