crashing heavily when i go to towns

Same here. Town is the most unstable place. I suspect character mtx.

From what I can see, it's only on the league server that I crash, just tried playing on standard and no crash
I can see most of us having the same problem, and yes, I was playing dragon dogma 2 and deep rock galactic survivors with no issues, and I have heard of the i9 13900 and 14900k problems that few batches have faults from manufacturer, but nothing we can do until a new bios update or replace it before warranty expires I guess, also dx12 dx11 Vulkan all shares the same crash. I might try the bios tweaking for CPU voltages. but I fear by doing so might affect other games, I'm not an expert on that matter unfortunately.
you have to alt tab game when going in to town till it load for me it works
I too am crashing on Vulkan and DX11... (screen freezes, and only music plays) I am about to try DX12 but seeing as others said it didn't work... I am doubting it will.

Last league it was resetting my entire PC... seems to have not done that so far this league.

POE is the ONLY game that crashes my system!

Quite possible. Last league i constantly had crashes that showed an error window saying exception "Metadata/Items/Armours/Capes/CoreVaalSnakeCape/CoreVaalSnakeCapeHeld.ao" not gettin a error box this time so far, just a crash.. but again, only in town.
Unfortunately, I often experience "Crash to Desktop" without any error message in towns.

Graphics: Nvidia RTX 3080
CPU: AMD 7950X3D

DX 11 or DX 12 makes no difference. :(
I was looking at htop and noticed that when this Usually In Town crash happens (it can also happen in hideouts also but far less likely) the game is running on only one thread with 100% commitment.

I think it might be a malicious exploit and it's more common now because there's more of them doing it.
But for myself it seems like the problem is nearly solved by changing CPU settings in BIOS. Whatever is going wrong seems to be forcing one core to do way more work than it's supposed to and creating an instability.
