Why is nobody asking for Detonate Dead to be nerfed ?!

Self explanatory title.
Affliction and Necropolis are the worst leagues ever to exist. The current game design and direction is atrocious.

Because we know no amount of asking will do anything.
Don't sweat it but certain gauntlet-shunning forumers will use it as an excuse to put the tinfoil hat on and claim they don't nerf DD so that Ben_ can keep winning Gauntlets (even though they just nerfed the skill he used in the last one)

Funny you ask, you must be new to the internet. Doesnt matter if its PvE, people still will look at others and feel "worse" because they play Y build instead X build, and X build is better.
Been awhile since I was here but..

The issue back in 2022 was that if you stood still for too long you died.

So slow warcries, ramping while standing still, etc, etc are all very risky directions to take a character.

Melee are disproportionately affected by this design. DD is not affected at all. You instant cast everything (or at least did back then).

So all instant cast abilities should naturally be less powerful than skills with cast times.

Back then we were saying that melee attacks should be motion attacks. Meaning if you swing a heavy sword you're not going to be in the same position you started from. It's pure momentum that drives the hit.

So I see they fixed that in PoE 2 which is good.
People still thinking softcore trade is a PvE game and one shouldn't care about what others play...

An economy trade league is PvP by definition. You compete for currency, resources and items in a capitalistic environment. You fight with and through your purchasing power.

People are choosing to play the best builds (DD for example) early on in order to gain an advantage over others. And an advantage you have.

So by not balancing the game, specific skills and builds have huge advantages... when the game is supposed to have 260 skills, yet check poeninja and see the 20% of DD

Wake up.

(and don't bring up other games modes, when 95% of people play softcore trade)

Interesting spin, but I respectfully disagree.

The only time that might matter is during a race, but arent most of those SSF?

The thing is, reasources are endless. SOmeone else dropping 10 divines doesnt mean tyhat now you cannot get those 10 divines. Thats why it will never be "PvP' as real world economy.

Two things.
1) The game is not a capitalistic environment. Markets, while a key part of a capitalist environment, are not the defining factor. In fact, to the extent an economy exists it is quite controlled by the Powers That Be (GGG) which is anti-capitalist. There is no capital in the game for players to manage, either. Thus, it can be described as a controlled market-centric economy. However, your assertion has an even larger flaw: economies are based on scarcity and limited resources.

This game, like pretty much all, has no genuine scarcity, such that there is no zero-sum nature to it. Specifically, when an item - including "currency" drops, it is a whole cloth addition. It dropping for one has no bearing on the "supply" for another one dropping. If the game was built such that there was a limited amount of them that could drop in a season that would be different.

Since there is no true scarcity, there is no real competition for resources.

You should also refrain from pontificating on why people play the way they do, as it just undermines any credibility you may have had. That is just you projecting onto other people and claiming it as fact, when it is not.

2)Your assertion that DD accounts for 20% of the skill uses on poe.ninja doesn't hold.

Looking at it currently with latest snapshot, the top one is Tornado Shot at 12, with DD coming in two slots lower at half - 6%. Even if you combine with VDD, it only hits 8%. That is for 5 links to be generous to you. When you look at All Skills, DD does not make the top 20. It still comes in at 6%, while the aforementioned TS still comes in at 12%.

Therefor your claim that the game is imbalanced because of DD and it taking up 20% of skill use has been weighed, it has been measured, and it has been found wanting.
