It's humanity evolution (and self-redaction) trait since times when someone tried to pick up stone and hit it with another stone. And then they had to escape the bush set a-flame by their experiment.

In PoE last group gt slightly better party, because whole game is designed around requiring a playing being good at math, modelling,experimentation and certain areas of game theory and computer sience. Heck,we don't have normal filters in invtory,but there is not-quite-well documented regex language for search. IQ240 is kind of prerequisite for being good at it.

Not sure what is even the purpose of it. Some layer of hardcore in softcore...

What's the point if you can just play hardcore.

It feels like there had to be something more to this mod and it's not a finished idea, but in the end GGG dropped it and left it in this questionable state.

I concur. Personally I dislike fact that warning is NOT on the item and not on USE of the item. So you actually already thrown it away to find out you can't\don't want to use it.

Secondly I knew quite alot of people who don't know English, sometimes at all, but sill play the game. Items themselves are easy to translate mechanically, most of stuff is either documented or blogged about or is a carbon copy of other aRPGs. On-screen text in fancy wording - not so much. Seeing as MOST death mssages about valdo deaths (it's happening every 15-20 minutes in EU region) are cyrillic, Korean, etc. - i.e. non-English, my concerns are not unfounded.

I tried to find a mention of the threat in my native language in Web. None. Nada. Mostly trolling, saying it's safe to run it. A brief mention of feature.
Some in depths of forgotten forums void league was mentioned,heh.

should not exist

you want to suicide your char you choose that path shoulnt be a map mod

it should not be able to happen if you click through 1 warning. i almost did it ... there should not be something that drastic with a 1 click warning.



my 2 cents . lots will disagree with me its all good. i havent read this whole thread but i can imagine the back and forth.

and for what its worth ive supported this game since day 1 (many of you dont give two sh88ts about that but the game woulnt exist without the early supporters)

Its not a random map mod. its only on valdos maps. i dont see the problem. if you dont wanna be voided then dont run it.

It prevents a lot of high end gear from moving to standard.

These particular mods and maps look and drop entirely different from other maps. Talking about it as if its just another "map mod" is disingenuous.

valdo's maps drop in a gift box, that is generally highly valued by most item filters. Warning sign #1 that something is different.

You then have to physically right click the box to "open" it to reveal the map. Warning sign #2 that something is different.

The map itself is holographic, and contains different colored text, BEGGING you to read it. Warning sign #3 that something is different.

You then make the decision to run it, at which point a literal warning pops up on the screen asking "are you sure?". Waring sign #4 that something is different.

Hell....there are less warnings when you create a character and "accidentally" choose HC mode!


This is not a case of someone simply not reading or looking up the information.....this is someone sticking their hand in the fire FOUR times before realizing they are burning their hand. I'm sorry, but the game gave you nearly every opportunity it possibly could to slow you down and make you realize that what you have is NOT a normal map nor does it have normal map mods. If you went through all that and still ignored everything....well I'll leave it at that.

Folks in this thread make it seem like running a void valdo is the same as accidentally running a reflect map....that its eventually going to creep up and surprise you. That couldn't be further from the truth.

I'd still say it just shouldn't be a map mod at all; because what's the point of providing content that I don't get to try?

I got my first valdos in ssf. It's like: what's the point? I've little chance of success, certainly not enough to be worth a void, it's also ssf, so this drop is literally vendor trash (and I checked, it gets me one transmutation orb if I sell). What's the point of making a supposedly cool drop so bad that it's not even worth tryin and failing, but is just vendored trashed?
