Skills with no Transfigured versions have effectively been heavily nerfed

By not offering transfigured gems for some skills, those skills have effectively been massively nerfed as they have no compensation for the loss of the helm enchants.

Poor form.

Did you check the new qualities? Most are pretty good I think.

Not for Poisonous Concoction. The change to the gem is a direct nerf (loss of 10% AoE on top of the loss of the 24% AoE helm enchant). It's a pretty miserable outcome after a run of relentless nerfs to the skill.

I think you didnt hcheck trans gems. Most of them are worse than regular version or just gems deisgned as "this is mapping version and this is bossing version"

There was no information whatsoever on Desecrate that I saw. Not even the vanilla version. I wonder if it just keeps the old quality increase for the base gem.

Prismatic Burst Support among others crying in a corner after losing unique quality mods like "increased aoe per STR" and "increased damage per int"

Blast rain went from barely usable to just straight garbage.

GGG did say they will be adding more transfigured gems in the future. They probably just did not have enough time, there are a lot of skills in PoE, and they have to be tested as well. I also believe they plan on doing support gems.

So technically at this moment you might be right, some skills without transfigured versions might technically be weaker. However there are many skills which had helmet enchants that never even used those enchants. Its not like you can put a helmet enchant on any item you want, there are restrictions there, and sometimes other options are simply better than the enchants.

The 2nd ascendancy makes up more than what any enchant could provide and then some. Then next league will come out and if there's no similar mechanic, or more transfigured gems, then sure they are literally on paper heavily nerfed.

I honestly feel like we lost more with alt quality support gems being removed than we did with lab enchants.

All main damage skill gems were meant to get transfigured versions for this update, they were creating them right up to the release day, they just ran out of time and didn't finish every one of them. They said during the QA about considering to add more mid-league, but if they decide against that anything missed will definitely be touched next league, and most of the gems with only a single option will probably be bumped up to 2 by then as well. This is not the end of the system, it's just the beginning, I would imagine in a few leagues most gems might have 3 or more transfigured options.
