Race Season Two Announced!

I dont want to be ungrateful or whine before the season started but only the Onyx amu is usefull to me, and I aint even lvl 50 on my main.

So I guess I stop at 60 points again.

Last race had more usefull rewards imo

Still, looking forward to this a lot! Racing is very fun :)

Sa souvraya niende misain ye
Would be a lot more about "skill" then time if you wouldnt allow no lifers to take part in ever race....

Like: Every account can race in 50 events maximum.

Race idea 2: No class race: In this race characters would be able to choose their starting point in the skill tree. You would no longer start at the Duelist, Marauder, Templar, Witch, Shadow, or Ranger areas. Instead your first skill point would allow you to choose any node in the entire tree and begin your build from there. For hour races this would be interesting. However, I feel that this would really shine in the 2 hour or longer races. At the end of the race GGG could just reset the skills when they port the characters to hardcore or default.

Race idea 3: Pick your Passive race: In this race characters are not required to chain their skill points together. This means with your first skill point you could take a skill at the very bottom of the tree out of the duelist area and with your second you could take a witch passive. I believe that this race would be more enjoyable the longer it lasted and that people would create some incredibly strong characters. At the end of the race GGG would just reset the character’s skill points when they go to hardcore or default and the character would be back to normal.

You could argue that, especially for "Race idea 3", it would get too easy to level new characters up.
A race league should never be easier than its parent league.

Well, you managed to change the times so people that work on the East coast USA cant race. 1st one starts when leaving work. 5pm..(20min drvive home..so this time SUCKS...it's so close yet so far)

Then you changed the 10pm to 11pm...Can't finish a race when you get up at 5:30am for work.

You have one start time listed at 8pm EST and that is PERFECT but it is 42races into the season.

I can only hope that timeslot is added to all of the dates.

**Almost 50% of the US population is located in the Eastern Timezone**

At the end of the season, the top 20 players by Season Points will receive an alternate art Demigod's Triumph. All 135-minute solo "signature events" will be examined and the top three experience values for each class will result in that player receiving an alternate art Demigod's Triumph also.

I have edited this paragraph to confirm the top overall for the season is determined by Season Points.

Regarding Eastern US. I'll have a look to see if we can move the race around your evening times, or add an additional set of races between 5pm EST and 11pm EST. This omission for our EST racers is my fault, and we'll try make good on it.

Regarding requests for overlapping or same time races for aprty and solo events, when trialled in the between season races, participation and competition in these races didn't seem especially high.

I suspect it has more to do with people not being interested in an "in between race" with no rewards except first place which was pretty much a lock for Kripp and his friends, so people didnt bother trying. And less on their interest in the concept of overlapping races, which I think is probably much higher than you realize.
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-

So would a player win multiple alternate art Demigod's Triumphs if that player were able to maintain multiple top 3 records in different classes in Signature Events?

Yes, you could win this for multiple classes, as well as getting a top 20 placement for points. And if you can master multiple classes for the signature event, then that is a significant show of skill.

:D A reason for me to practice other classes. Probably not a chance of winning another since they play so differently from witch but I am definitely going to try.. Will start practicing today or tommorow..

I think the signature events are a big step in the right direction. I still worry that the huge wash of races means that very few will see the full force of competition brought to them, but having running records as a form of inter-race event seems like a good way of solving the timezones problem.

Yeah.. I was starting to feel that as the event count got higher last season which is why my points went down and down.. Each signature race now will have meaning since the top 3 could potentially be changed completely.

A better solution would be for you to be able to judge the two groups individually in the same race by checking if any group XP was gained for example. The problem for a solo player with this setup is that he can never compete in the overall ladder, not only that, he's put at a disadvantage as far as seasonal rewards are concerned.

Also, judging the format based on between season participation might not be the best, not saying you're wrong in the conclusion that splitting it to two races is a bad thing, just that the incentive to participate was lower in the first place.

Either way I think one of your major concerns at the moment should be that the few can dominate these races way to easily thus causing a already lost mentality for the rest, something that is throughly reinforced by party and solo being judged in the same seasonal ladder. Simply put, the party racer has nothing to lose and everything to gain, where as the solo racer already lost by default.

Well.. they were not a part of the season so that could have been part of it but yeah it probably would not be popular enough sadly...... but maybe one try during the real season?
