I might be a POE shill but god the Graphics and Animations in D4 makes POE look like Trash
" I mean... the game was announced on a freaking blizzcon, the largest blizz sponsored event and it was in a main stage, so saying the company had no involvment is kinda like claiming a circle is not round And calling stash tabs pay to win in any similar level to chinese games is eye-rolling, i mean, what would you call the real money AH forced on D3 them? Even hearthstone is becoming more and more pay to win currently Damn, blizzard cant even brag about graphics at this point: WC reforged should have been only a graph update but basically did what 15 years of aging coudnt and killed wc3 b.net online and the visuals that were changed are well... just look at the remade version of the arthas and illidan showdown... the "remakes" of D2 and SC are straight up copy-paste jobs, cant even improve visuals on games that are 20y old and wanna shit on other companies about graphics? That being said, shittin on poe technical performance is kicking a dead horse. Poe DOES have terrible optimization, its really no secret and only the most blind GGG white knight will contest it. But thing is: Performance and visuals are really the two big damning points, its a sad moment when you are trying to bash a game, but cant touch gameplay and have to resort to how it looks or how it takes a strong rig to run |

Yes D4 graphics are notably better.
I was playing it today 3400x1440p max settings 100FPS and it never dropped below those setting. Lag spikes. That's about it. Yes, it looks and runs better than PoE. My 3080 12 gig never went over 70% usage. It's butter. GGG added DX12 like a few months ago and still doesn't fully support Vulkan (the superior API IMO). D4 also has DLSS and the AMD equivalent, HDR. Only thing I noted that it lacked was multiple AA options. I personally like SSAA + Temporal mix but it's isometric so not a big deal. All that being said. It's an ARPG and it's all about the end-game. PoE end-game has been seriously lacking IMO past year so I'm trying D4. I'm bored. No other reason. I'm sure PoE2 will fight back but putting all devs on that was a mistake IMO. Graphics don't make a game and in the end the gameplay loop gives loglevity and fun. I'm simply not happy with the current PoE end-game loop. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

D4 looks good and feels good to play. But it will stand and fall with endame itemization and endgame loops which we cannot playtest.
But all in all it looks good and I hope D4 turns out to be amazing. Not because I want GGG to fail, but because I want GGG finally to step up their game. |

a game that's played from isometric view doesn't have to have top-notch graphics anyway. Graphics matter in immersive first-person games, not in isometric action RPG's.
From ARPG's i mainly expect crisp controls, smooth animations, flashy special effects and decent optimization, so the game doesn't stutter at 5 FPS when there's a big swarm of mobs on the screen. This is doubly true for POE which is by far the fastest paced ARPG on the market. Just give us wider field of view. POE camera is kinda too low, shows too little. This demands this breakneck pace of the gameplay, because you don't see that much and monsters close the gap from offscreen to your character in less than a second. If you could see more you could get away with slowing the game down a bit, introducing priortization and planning in combat encounters, rather than promoting building meat-mashers that delete everything instantly. |

one of the universal truths of gaming is that visual appeal has absolutely no effect on if something is a banger of a game or not, it can make a good game better but there are literally no good games that only look good.
Meanwhile some of the best and most acclaimed games look like garbagio, so GGG should absolutely improve if they can but its hardly a priority compared to other leaps that can be made. |

Slightly better graphics and high quality in between quests cinematics for 70 Euros...You can already smell that is pretty much all they got. It will be fun for 1-2 weeks or so for some maybe a little longer. But no reinvention of arpgs...Will it make more money than poe 2, probably yes, but it won't cost poe the player base longterm...
Fornite and League of Legends are also not exactly known to be state of the art in terms of graphics. These two are the most popular pc/console games in the world afaik...Graphics don't mean much it just makes people order stuff, but it doesn't generate much playtime. |

" The first thing I noticed about POE 10 years ago was it's vomit inducing graphics and animation and millions of people have complained about this issue with POE on various forums on the internet. So you are wrong when you say graphics don't matter in isometric games. I played D4 Beta and it looks incredible it makes POE look like trash. You probably need to go check an eye doctor I reckon because no sane person would claim what you claimed. Especially now that GGG is owned by Tencent a multi billion dollar corporation but still spitting out Indie trash while at the same time having the Blizz forums laugh at POE for being "Chinese P2W trash" as they claim. I can't even defend POE over at Blizz forum because of this issue.
