Still think loot distribution should be a party option. It could even say on the party board what type of loot distribution the party leader is using. Leave FFA in there for people that like it AND have your new timer based loot system AND perhaps an individualized loot system. That is a lot of work I know but options are the only way to please everyone.
Indeed. Having the loot thing as an option would be the better way to go with it IMO as well.

The more I think about the loot delay, the more I think it's just unnecessary. I mean, I don't party play to farm for items anyway; I play to level, to beat bosses, and to interact with others.

If I want to farm/grind I go play solo. :)

Or, I could just find someone else who knows how to party play.

[li]Short-duration timed loot allocation (see this old thread for our thoughts on it). In multiplayer instances, certain items (magic, rare, unique, currency and gems) are now allocated to a random nearby player for a short duration, during which time only that player may pick them up. This duration is increased by the time it would take the player to run to the item. Note that the allocation time is short enough that players must still pay close attention to what items drop in combat and to take them immediately if they want them.[/li]

That still interrupts combat, making people stop fighting to grab loot. FFA loot is just a terrible system for co-op play. Leave it in Cut-Throat leagues only.

And thats what FFA loot systems makes people do, and why I dont like it. I would rather play with people AND get loot.

No its not its amazing because it can stop ninja looters and fast clickers to get the items.

We will also announce a more-firm date for the start of Open Beta. It's very likely that this will not fall in June, which was the last public estimate we stated. We have a list of must-have features (Trade, Arena PvP, etc) that we'd love to include.

Awww man... D:
I am slightly concerned about the damage increase on monsters. It is all well and candy dandy for marauders where it was frankly needed. I think this will become an issue for the melee ranger/shadow.
I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)

(IMO) One thing that Torchlight II got right is their loot system. You don't even see what drops for other people.

The issue with this is that characters players might not even get that perfect weapon for their build, because it just went to someone else without anyone else even being able to see what it was.

How could they let you have it? They'd have to stop playing, show it to you in the chat...

The free-for-all loot is preferred by some people but it should never be the default for everybody. Make it an option for custom leagues (old school grandpa i-hate-change league).

Well, why not have it in for everybody, yes, but as an option to turn divided loot on?
