Melee Splash?
" The Tribal Fury Notable Passive Skill no longer has "Strike Skills target 1 additional nearby Enemy". It now has "Melee Strike Skills deal Splash Damage to surrounding targets". +1 target is mastery now I jumped the gun, this is massive change. " Yeah, I got it the other way around; it's the +strikes that is a mastery, which is bad for certain builds relying on the anoint, but good for all other builds. The splash addition is a buff for 'most' melee builds, and probably minion builds too, as it's anointable. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Yeah, this breaks some existing builds and builds that are too far from the mastery nodes will need to use mods on gear for +1 strike. Still pretty hyped to make a build from scratch around it though.

Bust out the Viper Strike and Dual Strike. Oh, wait they didn't get buffed...
The Melee Splash thing only half? works anyways due to the skill mechanics. Splash is either worthless or not that great on Smite, Wild Strike, Pestilent Strike, Static Strike, Molten Strike or Frost Blades. I'll still be on my spells trend started 3 leagues ago. Not to mention much like Fortify nodes, GGG seems to feel only certain starting points can melee when in fact all of them can. I'd done melee with every start point till they scuffed it up. " sadly it's another ggg trap. removing the 30% further away will make strike skills feel more shit than ever before. i can tell you now what's gonna happen. the melee splash radius is gonna be very small "you can test this with the melee splash unique gloves" but the small radius will be "justified" because we would combine it with additonal targets + the 30% further away master, which got removed. i already tested the gloves melee splash vs awakened melee splash support in the past and the gloves sucked hard. it's nice to get for free but not nice to sacrifice gloves for it. with that being said, shit aoe radius with shit targeting distance does not feel good. which again can be tested now with the gloves. and yes we know the notable splash radius is bad, other wise melee splash support would be unreasonable to have in the game. I dont think this change adds any impactful benefits. The attack skill wheel is out of places and in a very bad region of the skill tree in regards to efficiency.
It requires additional skill points to reach. 30% more range with ancestors was removed which is a gigantic nerf. The people who used it before will know. I would like to highlight that we once had this 30% more range on awakened Ancestral Call before 3.15 it got removed and moved after that to the passive tree in exchange for skill points but other awakened gems got their special additions back. Now 30% extra range which was quite huge for strike skills feel of gameplay is gone completely for no reason. The new passive is more like a bandaid until poe 2.0 comes around with the new socket system that allows for single target and boss setup. Last edited by zzang#1847 on Dec 2, 2022, 7:09:19 AM

" the knockback on the gloves makes it real bad for clearing unless everythnig dies in 1 hit. have you tried them with sth that removes all knockback like divergent heavy strike ? btw cant believe i didnt find divergent heavy strike last league, would have made a heavy strike build. Seems like an extremely cautious step in the right direction.
Maybe Boneshatter will have some competition within "actual Strike" Strike skills. Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way.

" I see where you're coming from, and you might very well be correct here. But we do not KNOW, we suspect. There are several things in the game that are worded the same, but are different in reality. "Nearby", for example. So we don't know if the splash on the gloves, the splash on the tree and/or the splash on the Dual Strike threshold jewel (maces) are the same. The thing is, Chris was very direct in the live stream, saying "We want to buff melee". It's the first time I can actually remember him saying that. Now we as a community can hold him to it. It would be pretty stupid saying this in the same patch where they are nerfing two of the most popular melee skills without them actually buffing the whole archetype in the near future. Is their effort to "buff melee" boiled down to buffing a few very rare unique items? Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Dec 2, 2022, 7:53:52 AM
