Melee Splash?

Did I just hear that Melee Splash is a node on the passive tree now? Nice. I have been asking for this specific change/buff for a long time.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Hopefully true. Finally being able to run a strike build on a single six link is huge QoL.

I also hope people won't complain about it feeling mandatory like they did with threshold jewels and because of that GGG just deciding remove the nodes on the tree and doing nothing else.
Do you really prefer wasting a passive point on it rather than just swap the gem for that 1% of your playtime where you engage pinnacle/uberbosses?

Personally, even if the melee splash is actually the one from the gem, not the useless version you can already find on the tree, i don't think i'll use it.

Yes, absolutely. I am fully willing to pay passive points over gem sockets for more comfort, and the option should be there regardless of how sub-optimal it is to do so.

Simple answer? Yes I do. Gem swapping is a horrible "system".

Long answer? It's pretty substantial buff when mapping, letting you run a six-link without Melee Splash. Strike skills (well, some of them) got hit HARD by AN, and would probably be hit pretty hard by the upcoming rares too.

Besides, suggesting that uber/pinnacle bosses are the only scenarios where you had/should/benefited from gem-swapping, screams of "long-time-standard-decease", where you're blinded from not leveling through the acts with certain skills, and progressing through the rest of the game with VERY sub-par gear.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

It's not so much a matter of standard as a matter of "i won't level with skills that i know are bad for leveling." Like why would i? Leveling is already the worst part of the game as far as i am concerned, i don't really feel like i have to make it even worse by using skills with horrible early game scaling. But if that's your issue it's understandable why you appreciate the change.

But Melee Splash on the tree would make these skills a lot better for leveling, no?

No skills in the game should be balanced around having legacy/mirror standard gear to "feel good".

very great. hope it doesnt gives knockback like the gloves, that was painful. but if it doesnt, perfect.
Could we leave out the absurd exaggerations? There is a massive space between "going through the campaign and early maps at league start" gear and "legacy/mirror tier" gear and while strikes certainly suck for the former, they certainly don't need the latter. Unless your idea of "feel good" is "delete uber bosses in <5 seconds".

Yes, that change will make strike skills slightly better for leveling but they will still suck ass compared to other choices to the point where i wouldn't want to bother with it. Just use a different skill for leveling and then switch once you have the basic foundations needed for a strike build covered. Just like you'd do it with most spell builds.

Nice. If that's true i may go for Boneshatter for my second character.

Lots of QOL.

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
