Can I delete / completely remove my path of exile account?

I also want to delete this account so I could link my new one (POE2) to steam.
I already sent an e-mail to support@grindinggear.com. It has been 2 weeks without a reply so far so I leave this here in hope that some of the staff sees this request :)
