Why is pathofmatth banned?
Lol freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is a protection against the government interfering with your speech. It is NOT freedom from the social consequences of your speech. Such a thing is impossible. The irony of demanding consequence free speech in the name of free speech is it is wholly antithetical to free speech as a concept. Firstly those social consequences often take the form of speech themselves. Secondly if speech had no consequences it would not be worth protecting from government interference.
Path of math was being extremely abusive towards GGG staff members, of course he got slapped with a ban on return. |

Good. That kind of toxicity is unacceptable, hopefully it's permanent. Venting and attacking the game or direction of the game is fine, personal attacks against the developers is completely uncalled for. This kind of thing can be demoralizing and demotivating for developers and can have a negative effect on communications or development affecting all players. There's a reason GGG doesn't engage with us any more like they used to, which might be why they seem so out of touch with the state of things and what players want, and it's garbage like this that is behind it.

I could be wrong, but I still haven't seen any "staf abuse" bans due to "abuse" outside of the game's dependencies and the official forum of this game. Although cursing someone is not correct, I think the ban was overdone |

" Literally this. Iirc, GGG stated that they can't do anything about TFT due to it being outside of the game, thus you would normally expect that ANYTHING outside of the game/forums wouldn't warrant any action on GGG's part. THAT's the problem most of us that are against the ban have. I personally don't care who this happened to, I just don't like double standards. EDIT: Not that GGG SHOULD ban people for stuff said/posted outside of their platforms. Last edited by sea_serpent#3755 on Aug 25, 2022, 9:35:52 PM

1) Banning someone for things done/said outside your platform is not ok.
2) This is just GGG redirecting attention on anything but the current dumpster fire they created and the community is eating it up lol. Empy situation 2.0, just collateral damage. 3) Archnemesis and the rest of your glorious vision are stil bad |

PoM's comments and word choice was obviously inappropriate.
Banning him for the rest of the league I think is fair - he needs to cool off and play something else while GGG works on POE. The guy is passionate about POE and crafting and is generally helpful to the community. He let his passion and frustration get the better of him...we have all made stupid statements and said things in anger we wish we wouldn't have...I think if PoM apologizes to Chris and GGG they should give him another chance. I've lost control of the controls...
