How boring and small

I never thought I might see the day, but this might actually be it. After 4000 hours in the game I might be done. I fully understand your wish to change certain aspects of loot drops. Having thousands of drops and only 1% of them is in any way relevant can not be the way. I don't think anybody argued against this. But you have to see, that these changes drove away some of your most loyal players.
There have been divisive decisions in the past, no question about it. But most of them were somewhat reasonable and did not impact the game in too much of a negative way. There have also been a ton of positive improvements over the years. Especially in recent leagues the quality of life upgrades were very much appreciated. Now I am really not the person to run to the forums, reddit, twitter, grab a pitchfork and join the mob over every single problem. In fact, I don't think I have ever officially complained about anything in any of these channels at all. Surely this tells something about the quality of product you have been producing. The fact that I have been playing for 8 years should tell you as much. But these quantitiy changes could actually destroy what you have built. They are driving away many dedicated players such as myself and even forced the hand of some pillars of the community in content creation. I can not stand to see this game I love become "that game I played in the past". But for me there is simply no more reason to play. The fact that this change was not even reflected in the patch notes adds insult to injury. I genuinely hope that people can keep enjoying this beautiful game and you keep working on one of the greates games on the market. But at least for now, I can not enjoy this anymore. Was excited for the league, really was…. Going to sit this one out and see if they course correct, the hidden changes and their response to players through this post makes it hard to play.
Starting to look like a few other gaming companies that have greatly declined recently, unfortunate. |

I don't honestly get the goal of these heavy nerfs across the board while Archnem mods are still causing issues. All this is ultimately going to do is funnel everyone into doing the remaining League content you overlooked with your nerfs.
And after you nerf them, the game goes back to everyone farming that White Map Strand to level 100 again because proceeding the Atlas is not worth it otherwise. I recall GGG hating that early Atlas people ignored most of the game's content and farmed zombies on a beach because killing bosses and playing Red Maps wasn't worth it. If you skew the Risk vs Reward by killing the Rewards, everyone is going back to that beach to slay harmless zombies again. Even before 3.0 nobody bothered fighting Hell difficulty Malachai because the rewards simply wasn't there. They took the risk once for the bragging rights and never did it again. As for Archnems, its funny how they show the difference between good and bad encounter designs, high tier Archnem mods are ironically good design because they bring in cool boss mechanics that you have to avoid with your gameplay by dodging deadly beams and stuff. Meanwhile the most problematic Archnem mods are the fairly early ones which just give flat tanky and healing stats for the Rares, making them unkillable and not really bringing any mechanics beyond that. Gear- and Statcheck monsters are always more boring encounters than walking Bullet Hell SHMUP monsters that you can theoretically beat with your gameplay skill alone. And hey D2 had those 3 Immunities+ Phys Immunity Rares too, difference was you could run away from them and they couldn't really brick your Baalruns. Meanwhile Archnem monsters can absolutely brick a Delve or Blight or even Metamorph encounter completely and theres nothing the player can do about it. Thats just plain boring and bad design. |

Before 18mins have PoE 38k steam players. Nice job from 150k league start after 4 days. CW vision of success game is rly clear, but bit weird XD |

Honestly? I just don't know what to say. As for now all this changes looks like you just tired of your game, and you want to quit, but you can't due to your partnership agreement with Tencent or something like that, so you've decided to just kill the product which keeps you in this prison situation.

This is not nearly enough.
Harvest is dead as well as the loot. The only functioning mechanic right now is heist. And I don´t like it. I was really excited about Harvest Rework and this league and this news post is really disappointing. |
