[3.25] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
With the change to mines (no longer able to bind detonate to LMB) I'm thinking of doing something other than icicle mines from lvl 12. Just wondering what other people have been using to level up from here? Also, what do people progress with if they're not dropping any chaos to pick up an early WI?

" I only see new values for tattoos. Does the patch note mention whether tattoos are now in the core drop pool (or other sources)? |
|
" I usually go cold dot. I do a rotation of creeping frost, cold snap, frost bomb and frostbite. I rush the top cold nodes for nice damage, then go left towards reservation efficiency. It works very well, even with the loss of Vortex on left click. |
|
" Plus, ailment immunity is super good. Shock immunity drastically reduced the damage ceiling on a build whose greatest threats are one-shots, we can ignore anything on the grounds and our Pantheon opens up, as we don't need Brine King for freeze immunity. |

interesting scarab, so we can remove from t17 map suf/pref mods that kills our build xD or no hm...? Last edited by archwerewolf#0781 on Mar 26, 2024, 4:03:31 AM

" Yeah sounds good. I'll have a little toy around with it, haven't played cold dot in ages but sounds better than mines. I guess if you don't drop any chaos you just keep pushing the CD spells until you do and can get WI then ... |

" Obviously, a cold skill would be ideal but alternatively, if you don't mind some respec. I was playing around with detonate dead. 2 button unearth or desecrate and DD. There are some nodes near the start that are ok. I didn't optimize it at all but took growth and decay and Snowforged before heading up to the top of the tree. It was fun (for me) and performed ok. I've started rolling magma many times with witch and I would guess it would be viable with shadow. Probably makes more sense vs DD but I have not tested it. |

Hey guys! A new league is coming soon. What I've gathered from the patch notes, streams, etc:
1. Wildwood ascendancies and charms are not going core (at least not yet). That's sad. It was the most OP league ever. Of course, we can't expect that kind of power in every league. For now we forget about those nice charms and the unique jewel and go back to the 3.22 state. Almost... 2. No changes to Simplex Amulet. The super mega upgrade option remains. Even without the 3.23 stuff, this is massive. Also, it gives you a goal to work towards. I assume it's still going to be super expensive. Maybe not to the same extent as it was in 3.23. The market there was insane because the currency rained from the league mechanic. I expect the prices to be back to 'normal' in 3.24. But since the Simplex was not a thing in 3.22 and before, it remains to be seen how accessible it will be. 3. T17 maps sound interesting. New uber bosses sound exciting. Not sure about the power adjustments they mentioned that are supposed to make all uber pinnacle bosses closer in difficulty. Does it mean they are going to nerf Uber Sirus and Uber Eater and buff Uber Cortex and Uber Shaper? We'll see. In any case, looks like I'll be doing new videos for all of them. 4. It's a crafting league. Which probably means there will be some OP crafts we can use. At the same time, I'm worried about the maintenance aspect of it. That screen at the entrance to every single map? You can probably ignore it and just play it with random buffs to random mobs. But I don't think I can do that. I'll be compelled to optimize things. Plus whatever you do with the 'souls' or whatever the league mechanic drops. I quit the original Harvest league after a few days because the Farmville part of it consumed more time than playing the game itself. I really hope Necropolis isn't like that. 5. Only a couple of things in the patch notes relate to this build. The change to the stun mitigation on ES mastery: instead of 60% ES it now uses 50% ES in addition to the default life-based metric. If I remember correctly, it uses the amount of life you'd have without CI. Which is typically more than 10% of your ES with this build. So this may actually be a buff. Or it won't make any difference. The other change (Dreamer) should be beneficial to us while leveling. And then you drop that node anyway. Overall, we'll have less power than in 3.23 but more than in 3.22. |

" Bottled Faith requires the target to stand still. And it's always expensive. It's a luxury option that's not 100% reliable. That's why I hesitate to include it in the build. Map mods: 1) Reduced aura effect gives you less ES, resists and damage. You'll still do just fine. Especially with the proper flasks. You are still immune to ailments. 2) Incorrect. With Polymath you'll hardly notice a difference while clearing most maps. You can tank most bosses just fine even without leech. This build has plenty of defenses. You can dodge most map bosses' damage by treating them like Sirus/Maven: name lock them and frostblink around (see Play Style). 3-5) You do less damage. Mapping is still super easy. 6) Swap 1 jewel and you're fine. Or a ring (but jewel is easier). Reflect is the only thing that even requires swapping anything. Automation Support works only with instant skills. Icestorm is not instant. Vortex used to be but got nerfed, sadly. |

" It can mess with your name locking technique. If you don't set "Attack without moving" for Frostblink and Icestorm, you will often dash to the namelocked boss instead of where your cursor is pointing. And if the boss teleports too far away (Maven, Sirus) it will make you walk towards them. That's really annoying. I'm not sure if it works the same way on console. Maybe this issue doesn't exist there since they don't have that option. Last edited by Kelvynn#6607 on Mar 26, 2024, 3:55:47 PM
