Anyone has any tips on the best way to fresh start an HCSSF Trickster that could transition into CI+Whispering Ice after farming and acquiring the gear?

I used to play Whispering Ice ages ago and I would like to make it work in HCSSF for a fresh start.

Any ideas on a build I could use to level and transition into a map farming build that could then transition into CI/Whispering Ice once I find it?

Thanks

Since it will be difficult to find the build-required WI staff early, any hardcore trickster build will work.

You'll have to level to about 85 or so in order to get enough regrets to respec as well as collect enough gear. Or you could just start a second trickster and save the regrets (and do it a bit earlier -- use the first char to get fast levelling gear for the second. And that's also a good backup plan in case your first char dies unexpectedly.)

In other words, you're going to be doing the equivalent of two full character builds.

Personally, I think there are better ways to spend your time.

Last time I played WI in SSF I used Winter Orb with the general WI tree.

Would not recommend.

Incidentally, if you're trying to self-farm the staff, know that they drastically lowered the drop rate of the div card a couple of leagues ago. The best strategy is MFing for raw drops.
Every League I play this build it is more fun, and I learn every league more about PoE. And this is like the third time I ask myself: Did anybody do the proper math of CwC compared to ACwC?

Math is linked in the OP I think. You want the intervals to be synced with the 0.2 seconds between each icicle for optimal DPS. ACwC creates storms faster, but it's useless, as it also removes old storms faster.
Hello there and first of all, thank you for that awesome build. Really love it, since playing it on a scion back when it was viable.

What should I say? I had a lucky drop with Mageblood.
I already read some comments here stating, that it would be better to stay with the int increase belt. I have one, but it's far from extraordinary.

Thus I would humbly ask for suggestions on how to make use of Mageblood in this build to still be tanky (around 8k ES without and 7.2K ES with using Mageblood), but also boost my damage.

Thank you in advance and all the best to you.

Here's a setup that should work :

Three elemental flasks (frees up resists, 40% less ele taken)
Swap Purity of elements for a damaging aura
Use Stormshroud with the chance to avoid shock suffix for 100% to avoid all ailments
Diamond flask for crit.

Suffixes :

Crit chance
Less effect of curse (gets to immunity)
Craft reduced mana cost to get back some passive points and affixes
Chance to avoid shock
@Kelvynn : Have you considered the "frenzy charge every 15 seconds" implicit on body armour? The current mod is +effect of auras or +crit multi, both of which give less than a frenzy charge in DPS (+effect of auras while boss is 3%).

If we can get the charge duration over 15 seconds, even the lowest tier guarantees permanent maximum charges. For bosses, it's a net gain, because we have no reliable way to generate Frenzy charges. During mapping, it makes it more consistent.

If we remove One Step Ahead and add Swift Killer, plus put one point into the extra max Frenzy charge on the right of the tree. Average hit goes from 1.682M to 2.016M, or 25% more DPS. We lose the benefits from One Step Ahead and need to find one passive point to remove.

We can also not even take the +max charge on right of tree and change nothing and DPS is 1.949M, so 20-22% more damage at the only cost of One Step Ahead's benefit.

Seems super worth it.

Hello there and thank you very much. I'll give it a try, but the test run yesterday with your proposed setup seemed to work fine.

Best regards

Gaining a few levels is a cheap way to gain some more damage.

Your helmet could be rerolled into a better %int affix.

Your Topaz Ring could really use some upgrading. Even another corrupted Heup of All should be a considerable upgrade.

Your belt has only one useful affix (+int). Slam some Essences on it to get more useful ones.

Quality your gems. It's not that costly and will make a difference.

Get Blanketed Snow on your Large jewels. That's -20% res right there.

Change your Split Personnalities from int/EV to int/ES. It's going to make you substantially tankier.

Your Watcher's Eye could be upgraded with a second useful mod.

Make sure you still need the Dreamer Cluster. As some point, you get so much mana that you can take thsoe points back.

Take the "damage recouped as mana" mana mastery instead of "10% lower cost". You want to regen your mana when you proc several spell at once, which happens when you get hit.

Check in PoB if the attributes mastery would be better with "int per mastery" instead of %attributes.

Quality your flask for exta uptime for dirt cheap. Remember : you can swap currencies with NPCs in the epilogue, including flask orbs.

Hope that helps!
