PoE graphics far better than D3

I was really shocked at how simple the D3 graphics are. Some of the spells are downright ghetto and the overall feel and look of the game does not look as polished as PoE.

I was really surprised.

I'm not a graphics core and I haven't played enough D3 yet to say it is worse/better than PoE, but PoE definitely wins the graphics battle imo.

I've been playing both a fair bit.

D3 still has its wow influence and polish.

The graphics are dumbed down but I can't say I don't like the polished spell animations that mesh so well, but hey I guess thats where multi-millions of dollars of developement went, polish.

You can expect the same quality from an F2P as well. I just can't beat the feeling that the open beta will see a few significant changes. But, on the bright side, this game is potentially always under constant improvement.

Say... a year from now, I see PoE looking pretty strong.

I started playing Diablo 3 on Tuesday, and before that I played 4 weeks of POE beta. I have to say that the criticism on Diablo 3 is a bit over the top right now. While I love POE as well, I feel it can't be compared to Diablo 3, because the mechanics are totally different. That does not mean that D3 is a bad game.
I might get shot on these forums for saying it, but really I have had hilarious fun in D3 so far, playing in coop as Witch doctor and a barbarian. I really is a fun and great game and you really do have options.
On the graphics part. I can't say POE is better or something. It's just different. People saying that diablo3 looks bad are blind imho. It looks great.

Just my two cents though.

PS: Why not enjoy both games and stop all the competition nonsense. It's about having fun after all.

That's just your bias speaking. You don't know that at all.


'PoE doesn't have a skilltree, that means it's going to have issues in the end game'. Yeah, obviously that's fucking bullshit, because I don't know, I can't know, and neither can you.

Of all the trigger phrases for less-than-fruitful conversation when it comes to admittedly inevitable comparison, 'better than' is tough to beat, without at least some version of "I think it is" before it.

Seriously. Wording is IMPORTANT if you don't want to cause just another shit-storm.

As per the topic, PoE does have far better graphical standards, but could still use a good bit of work making animations and everything more smooth and polished.
