[Solution found!] Even more CPU spikes after the patch; the game is unplayable.

My cpu lag spikes were mostly fixed by 3.17.1. Todays 3.17.3 have brought them back with avengence.

Back to turning off multi-threading :(
I hope a solution is found about the spikes..

Amd cpus are affected too.

Just found out that turning off ENGINE MULTITHREADING completely eliminates CPU spikes on my PC (though has some negative effect on video performance).

Guess something to do with Intel i7 CPU.

Still I understand this problem persists FOR YEARS, would be nice to hear something about it from GGG, do they intend to try to resolve it or should we ditch Intel CPUs?

fantastic .. just did that and no spikes what so ever also have i7

well TNX mate
3 months later noone from GGG has anything to say about the problem caused by their own patch. Critical tech problem doesn't seem so critical to the devs. You already been told the root of the issue (C-states for most users) and still there's no fix for this... While people have to run with c-states turned off and +10-20 degrees celsius on their hardware.

You have to understand that threads are moved to the Tech support forum, not to find solutions or solve problems. They are moved here to hide them. Where nobody will see them unless they too have a problem. Just know that it is too close to the launch of PoE2 to care, or they would have chimed in all these long months. This thread is here so it can languish and die without so much a peep from LaGGG.

My Game.. Unplayable now. Steadily getting worse and worse with each passing day. Disconnect. Crash to desktop. Lag.. .Constant .. massive . .major .. lag. only playable from midnight till' 8AM. And now? It's 3:50AM and my latency is at a solid 10,000 milliseconds. But I can't even log into the game for a min without a crash.

Hey Techies at LaGGG I think it is time you save face.

Try this
BIOS->CPU->Intel Hyperthreading Technology -> Disable
it do it a little less
https://ru.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3210088

they must fix MULTITHREAD in game

So I'm not the only one and the problem still exists. What a shame, I want to play so bad.
Well after a few months of this being fixed, 3.18.0e has brough it back for me.

Stuttering like crazy in hideout again, not as bad in maps. Same as before, turning off multi-threading fixes it but at severe cost to performance.

This is old story. GGG broke it somewhere and now players have issues while multi-threading is on.

Try disabling it, although u will sacrifice a chunk of performance.
Stupid PoE2 Particle System Patch...

New mute system is another hot garbage.
