is Chromatic Orb really random ?
is some items bound to certain colors ?
should i stop trying ?
i spent 50 good stones trying to loose the 3 and 4 red slots but it was
just repeating itself with 3 or 4 red slots the whole 50 attempts
dose that gose under the random statistics ?

i spent a LOT of orbs but this item is scripted to red slots
and i will give it up before my currency is totally destroyed ,,
just next time don't tell us its random its red red red then its red again

socket colors are weighted based off an items attribute requirements.

strength makes it more likely for red, dex green and int blue.

where does it say 'random' color? The description just says it 'reforges the socket colors'. So no one told you its totally random, you just assumed it.

its based on stat requirements like the person above said, not just the stat type but also value. So a item requiring 100 str is more likely to roll red sockets than one that needs 10 str.

Sooner or later you will unlock socketcolor recipes for your craftingbench and then you simply buy what you want or use Harvest recolor crafts once you get to maps.

However its usually not worth spending currency on leveling gear you´ll vendor anyways some 10-20 level down the road.
Instead Id recommend to either buy a Tabula Rasa, should be cheap this late into the league or farm Humility div cards in Aquaducts (act4) or later in Blood Aquaducts (act9) and turn the full set in for a Tabula. Might take you an hour or two farming tho.
Its THE standard leveling chestpiece pretty much everyone uses up to maps until you actually need some defenses in that slot.

your best bet is to actually get 3-4 of the off colors than do vorici 1-6 white sockets and hope, or start with a heist enchant of "no sockets of the main stat color"
